Ok this is what happened. I was driving the hell out of my car, shifted into 3rd, it made a high pitched grinding noise. It wouldn't go back in gear until the RPM's dropped significantly. Ever since that, every gear is that way. It has got to the point that it's hard to get it out of gear at times. I occasionally have to shut off the car, put it in 1st gear, start up the car, then drive off. BUT, almost everytime I do that, the car tries to start moving itself like the clutch isn't completely disengaged.
I have been told this. Bad slave cylinder, the fork isn't moving far enough. It should move ATLEAST one inch. Ok, I bought a new slave cylinder, didn't help at all. Everything was done as it should, removal, installation, bleeding the air from the lines, everything. Ok, so I got someone to press the clutch pedal while I move the boot on the slave cylinder and watch the travel of my fork. Well, it seems to be moving just over 1/2". I would take an educated guess and say 5/8".
Second thing I was told, I was told that part of my clutch had broken, or one of the springs has broked off, and I need to buy a new clutch kit. I'm not sure, it was unclear what I was told.
The really bad news: I HAVE to drive my car to work as well as to school. I can't borrow anyones car, I only have this car. I'm pretty much screwed until it's fixed. Any help greatly appreciated.
