Default What I have, want, what do I need?

    Right now, i'm a B16A. I can get a B18 for 300 bucks with about 20K on it.

What I want to know, Will it bolt up to the B16 trans? Cable. What ECU Do i need that will plug and play into my CRX with out having to do away with the Vtec wire.

Or, Can i run the same ECU (get bigger injectors), and put the B16 head on it w/out machine work. I eventually will be boring the B16 block to the 1.8 specs and puttin low comp and boosting. This will be temporary to keep the car on the road while I wait.

    Thanks.

you can run everything on the b16 onto the b18.. yess cable and or hydro tranny will bolt up to either b series block. in your case it's a cable so shouldn't be a problem @ all .. :0

if you are planning on using the b18 to run the car while you are building the other engine, then I don't suggest putting the B16 head on it. Just run the stock B18 like it is. What year is your car? what year is the engine from? if car and engine are OBD0, use a OBD0 PR4 ECU. If the engine is 1992 or newer, you will have to convert the engine to OBD0 (since your CRX is OBD0 i would guess)

CRX Is a 90 SI. Pretty soon though its just going to be a shell for sale. I need a rear seat for up coming events !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got my 91 Civic Hatch sitting motorless. So i'm going to put the B18 in that until the B16 is done. Then i'll either sell or build the B18 and do and LS/Vtec.

For now though, I'm doing some suspension work on the civic, then i'll take an entire day and swap everything out. It should deffinetely be some good fun. I love the CRX. I'm afraid her and I are going to have to part ways. Thats ok though. THe civic was the first car i ever bought cash paid of my own money. So that'll be even better for me

Thanks for the input though guys. Anthing else, is much appreciated!

itll be hard to bore a b16 to b18 specs, b18 is a stroked out b16, both are 81 mm from the factory

Then it wouldn't be hard at all..actually lol. I never been into either motor so. THat just makes it easier. to stroke the B16 and be done. Or just have my block made to accept the B18 crank.
