I will be in attendance. Times have changed, it won't be all rice. Shit the car scene needs the meets like Nopi to return....it brings everyone together. I know there will be a lot of cars there I think are ugly/stupid, but the car scene needs to grow out of what it is, noone appreciates anything other than their ebay parts anymore.

I dont think NOPI was all rice if anything it just was a better put together show than most shows each particular make had its own section it wasnt just 5 hondas next to 3 chevys next to 2 audis, they had structure to it i mean common sence would tell you at NOPI that if your standing some where and you have hondas to your left and right its no accident your standing in the honda lot... how the hell you expect to see a mustang in the honda lot???maybe you need to look again but that cant possibly nothing but just ricers, where you at the right nopi show or did some one sell you tickets to something that sounded like nopi and you ended up at a hyunday dealer lol

This part was meant to be a joke, yes? There was absolutely nothing about NAPI to compliment except that it probably brought good revenue to Lovejoy and Hampton. It's not very well structured if you don't even have to show up to win.
Another joke? Now please don't take this as a continuing "attack" on you (remember we made good between us), but I've seen your car and I can see why you think NAPI wasn't a rice-fest. The ONLY reasons why nice cars showed up is for the magazine coverage, sponsor mandated and for the easy trophy. The last good NOPI show was before the "tuners" started showing up.

i get where you coming from QD i do, and i mean yeah i get that your a muscle car guy, but i guess with time comes change and i know alot of people might label me a ricer cause i have clear tail lights on my car i mean thats really about the only mod that stands out on my car aside from the paint job, but i have just learned to let peoples opinion bother me, i mean to be honest i dont have a preference between import or new age muscle and old school i mean truth be told id never pick an new school mustang over a classic fast back, but not every one has a west coast customs close by or a unique auto car shop down the street and a couple grand to say here ill be back in 3 days to pick it up... as for NOPI individually in my own opinion and i cant say im any more right or wrong than any one but i think they just let greed get to them and they started spending more money than they made and tried to get us to pay for it and then hit a pot whole, i mean maybe your opinion or a couple others opinion might be oh just a bunch of crappy cars but realisticly speaking its a blue collar car show, hell that car show attracks people from as far as canada and besides maybe japan and some places in europe im sure their car shows or car at the shows aint even half as nice because not every one makes enough money to be able to buy and fully mod an m3 bmw or a mustang fast back... as for the scene here in local atlanta i think its 50/50 i mean i went to import alliance there was no shortage of tuners there and then i went to Atlanta Drag Nights last night and there was more people signed up for the drag racing that for the show and shine show, i mean what does that tell you and over half of those folks where muscle cars... and what i meant by structure in nopi is at least they separate the lots by makes i mean i dont know how much more you could disect it any more unless you brake it down by year make and model of the car per lot and that would be a bit to much, as far as winning with out being there i dont know nothing about that , as far as it being a revenue booster well i mean its just a black whole thats bound to happen you add 10000 tourist to a town revenue will be genarated but i mean Nopi is tho the only company that hosts shows in atlanta and theres really no where else they can hold that particular carshow.. my opinion and this is just me the main thing i didnt like about Nopi is the dumb burn out contest i honestly rather see drag racing.. and as far as my car goes i mean to be honest im not goin to change my car cause some one else dont like it im mind full of others opinions and im not goin to act as if mine is better, id tell a muscle car guy nice ride just like i would a honda guy just like i would a bmw guy honestly i dont discriminate, i love to see an old school big block chew up and spit out a honda just like i love to see one of them pocket rocket hondas smoke them 350z ect ect, but honestly to finish my long ass paragraph up NOPI never has been nor ever will be the worst organized car show ever and i honestly dont believe they are out to put a bad name on the car scene or steal every ones money, even though they do take more than what they entitled too

Anyone who has been in the car scene for a long time knows that this is a bad idea. Some of you fan boys obviously werent around when shit got bad here. Or even could know what actually went on behind the scenes. Go on, keep believing this is for the good.. But when you get to the door and they charge you 100$ and your left testicle to get in and you dont get judged, or you get judged for 5 seconds but you happened to park next to a cleaner car and he gets judged for 20 minutes. The point being import atlanta hasnt been around half as long as you have, ok the point is?? no i may have not been around the car scene since 86 cause quite frankly i was 6yrs old.
At the same time no one can turn back the hands of time and take you back to 86 im sure things where better back in 86 like gas prices ect, but i dont think your goin to go sit in krogers on the floor and protest the cost of milk. I have no control over what the car scene does no one in this forum is at fault for nopi or hin over charging or not judgin cars, so im just tryin to figure out what exactly ya older member of the site suggest ok so some of ya joined back in 01 some in 03 some in 05 granted ya know the atlanta scene better than any one.

Way before i was into sports compacts and imports i was into mini trucks witch is way much further back that this generation of tuners. You know what thought when mini truck shows became part of a dying breed i didnt got to car shows to go kick tires and tell some one in a hyundai how shity it looks cause its not what i want it to look like. Cause at the end of the day they put they money into it, its there hobby and they have to drive it.
To be honest i dont have half the experience some of ya may have working on cars and just because we live in different countys, different citys, different states, drive different cars, or even speak different languages id never once refuse to sit down and have a talk about cars. I would never go to classic car show and compare a tuner show to their show cause its not the same thing, like quite frankly im sure im possitive that a show in 86 or 90 or 95 or 00 even are different than what they are now.
What i dont understand is why we havent come to terms yet with generational differences part of it its called maturing. I grew up lissening to kriss kross and stripped shirts and LAgears and a bunch of other shit i dont walk around angry at the world cause kids wear skinny jeans and lisen to solja boy or watch harry poter. All i can say is i feel where some of ya coming from i respect what ya have done for the tuner scene, but dont point a finger at us or make us feel like we are anyless of car enthusiast for being born after you or not liking what you like....

Do not pay/register before making sure these events are legit. HIN has yet to give refunds and payouts to many of last years competitors that I know of. The 2010 events they supposedly have scheduled are not listed on the track websites (New England, Etown, LVMS, etc).

i think the show is gonna be nice, ive heard alot of out of towners mention coming to Atlanta for it, so thats always a plus. Regardless of what happened behind the scenes, we honestly could give 2 shits about who screwed IA over. We just want a nice event, if its over priced people wont go if its decently priced people will show up. 70% of the people going at each other about what they will and will not support rarely come out to anything anyway. I mean its not like theres a Tunerfest to look forward too as of yet. All that matters is how much, when, and where do we park...
