It's not that bad of a drive. Bought the Evo in South Beach and a hardtop for my old Miata in Tampa. We drove to Tampa and back in a single day. Just be sure to have lots of change for the turnpike...

Easy, 9886 has ai-net which is Alpine's databus input for peripherals such as SAT radio tuners and CD changers. An ai-net to RCA cable and y-cable are all you need. I stock both in the bay at BBY. You should have just aske me instead of racking your brain lol.

Yes, all you do is switch source. Not only have I done it on customer's cars, but I even use it everyday on our personal shop radio (also a 9886). You didn't listen to what I told you, the third part you linked is fullspeed to 3.5mm, I'm telling you to use ai-net to RCA plus y-cable.
Second cable plus y-cable is what you need. Your 422i cable is utilizing the fullspeed port, not ai-net.

i was thinking the whole time that the ipod was plugged into the ai-net... that they were using the same cable....

If I were you, I'd get in touch with Tim Hamm at SpeedFilm and get that nose covered so it won't chip. You only have a short window until you get your first chips...then it's too late to put the film on. He put it on my car and it's amazing.
