    Lexis-Nexis is worthless.
    What's the clear-cut law on exhaust, decibel rating and equipment?

    If I have a tail pipe, am I required to have a muffler?

    Right now my exhaust consists of: header - turndown with O2 sensor - cat - resonator - exhaust piping.
    It is much louder. I don't like it, but I also can't afford to fix it correctly this week.

    Technically, we have a decibel level restriction but a lot of cops don't enforce it too much unless it's ungodly loud.

    Yes, any vehicle needs to be equipped with a muffler of some sort. The decibel limit is 95db.

    I don't know about anyone else but it's fucking pouring rain at my house and keep losing power. I guess I'll go change the oil in the POS real quick...
