Well I test drove a 2011 Honda Civic Si after my mom got all pissy at the Ford coz it just crapped on us. I seriously think they are strongly considering on buying a new car this time thank god after convincing the hell out of them that the Ford is not worth keeping anymore.
Won't be there tonight. Sick.
:(
I guess it is a good excuse to play some Dirt 3 for awhile before bed.
Ill see y'all tonight.

I'll be out but it might be a little later
Gymkhana on Dirt 3 is retarded.
Danny bought Dirt3 but I have yet to play it. On the other hand, LB bought me Portal 2 and that can get addicting. This is the first puzzle game I've really played.

What's up guys? Still at Army AIT. My graduation is July 21st. Will prolly be back in town for a few days after the 30th of July. Might be able to show up to a meet if the days work out.
Anyone have jackstands/ramps
First off this is not my trans. This is a good friend of mine that told me he had a transmission problem on the way to work. After he got it out of the car he knew he had a major problem without even opening it. Best as I can tell is he either let it run low on fluid, or the bearing just went on its own. I'm leaning towards low fluid. He told me it gave no heads up about going bad. No grinding, shaking, or other noises. It just popped out of 5th on the freeway and wouldn't go back into gear.
Here's what I found when I took it apart.
Its a stock T5 from an '87 GT.
#1 - You can see the teeth torn up and the major disoloration of the bearing and input shaft

#2 - Thats the counter shaft bearing cup. That bearing cage is welded to the race. You cant see it in the pic but you can see where it locked onto the counter shaft and was rotating in the case. Its pressed in by the way and shouldnt be able to rotate.

#3 - here is the end of the counter shaft where the bearing failed. The gear on the end mates up and drives with 4th gear / Input shaft gear. That roller bearing is welded to it
http://i577.photobucket.com/albums/s...r/DSCF1084.jpg
#4 - Here is the main shaft. Thats third gear / 4th gear slider all the way on the right side of the screen, 5th drive gear on the left. You can see the major heat discoloration on it from right to left. The third gear is on the end where the counter shaft bearing failed.
http://i577.photobucket.com/albums/s...r/DSCF1085.jpg
#5 - Heres the main case. Right side of the screen is the bellhousing / Input shaft side. You can see where the counter shaft walked and 4th gear on the counter shaft ate through the case.
http://i577.photobucket.com/albums/s...r/DSCF1082.jpg
#6 - Heres whats left of 5th gear. its on the opposite end of where the bearing failed. What caused the teeth to get eaten up is the angle change of the counter shaft. When the bearing walked the 1/2 - 3/4 inch in the front of the case, the major angle ate the teeth off.
http://i577.photobucket.com/albums/s...r/DSCF1081.jpg
#7 - This is the counter shaft bearing cup that walked in the case. From what I can tell it got so hot it melted the aluminum and walked 1/2 - 3/4 inch to the left of the screen. I had to chip the molten (now solidified) aluminum off and out of the way to remove the counter shaft. Bill had also said how it melted some of the bell housing as well. Its normal home is seated all of the way on the right side. Again this is pressed in and should never move or rotate.

The trans is pretty much a total loss. The only thing I would use is the tailshaft and the shift forks. With the amount of heat that thing took I would be afraid the mainshaft and the remaining good gears would shatter on a strong hit.
He already bought a brand new T-5Z and put that in place of this one. I told him to please keep an eye on fluid level.
I've got no need... I know how slow I am now
