Take DIE HARD

arguably one of the best action movies ever made IMO. The one liners, the action, the story, the stunts, everything was top notch. Bruce Willis was superb. Die Hard 2 i still liked but it didnt have the same , flavor. Die Hard 3, arguably just as good as number 1 and they should have stopped there.

i watched the shows.. but i never got into them.. only one i really watched was Airwolf/Chips/knight rider I always wanted to watch voltron, and Transformers more... i had all the toys tho... made sure of that!

Mike isn't old enough. He was only 5 years old for the last showing of the A-Team. You were 8. To show my age superiority (lolol), I was 17.

but he was trying to illustrate the point that I was making earlier - that the shows were not the greatest shows AT ALL - that's why when you have a movie based off of 20 year old shows that only ran for 5 or 6 years TOPS (A TEAM only went 5 years) you have to add a lot of things to stretch that out for a 1.5 - 2 hour movie. That "stuff" is what the hard core purists think makes it fail. BA was a young and strong horese when we watched him on the series - we (people who remember the show) expect to see a young vibrant BA in the movies - I'd be disappointed looking at BAs old wrinkled ass in a new action movie w/ the title A TEAM. Kinda like when I see Sly with wrinkles -- I'm disgusted - it's over Stallone - lol.

Oh I have to agree with you there on using the same actors in remakes from 20 years ago. No sense in that. What my main focus was on, though, was remaking movies. That's what sucks. Making a movie out of a TV show is different. Most TV shows back in the 70s and 80s didn't follow a week to week story line. They were completely different stories and plots each episode. So what is going on now is they are, essentially, just making a movie version of the show. That's not too much of a big deal. The only thing, for those "purists," is it's sucks to see another actor playing the role of someone you're used to seeing. That's what makes it not the same. Later, QD.

IDK - my daughter is 5 years old and she is definitely into her TV shows - not just cartoons either. Also the show didn't just fall off of the TV after production stopped. I can gurantee Mike got enuff A-Team, my younger brother is 26 and we watched it together although there were more re-runs for me than him.

I don't know, man. I have to disagree with most of your theory, but we all know that in the end, it's all opinionated. Like I said, a TV show made into a movie isn't as bad as say a remake of another actual movie. Later, QD.

I'm not saying they should remake it with the original actors, I'm just saying that would be equally appealing. First and foremost though, I think they should let it go. Let it belong to the past.

In the '80's, they did it right. TV series > movie with original actors > start over with something new. There were no sequels. There were no re-makes.

I'm sure if they could find someone with a little creativity they could find an original action role for Rampage and the rest...

Sounds to me like you wanted skeleteons of their former selves to be the brunt of their own jokes just for a nostalgic moment. How much sense does that make for a movie - reminds me or 60 year old Sly in the Rambo movie - we get it Sly - you're a bad mother fucker - but sit the fuck down. LOL

I actually think they did Rambo the right way. The portrayed him as old and kinda washed up.

And the editing in that new Rambo movie was the best I've ever seen in any action movie ever. It goes for the jugular and does not let go.

Hopefully this A-Team business will fail and be over with soon. Then the "unrated bonus super ImportAtlanta edition" or whatever will come out on DVD and be forgotten about and those of us who enjoy the original series can get on with our lives.
