I will have to look into that. Thanks for the tip.
I owned the 2g 8gig, the 3g 16gig White and it messed up on me. Went to Apple, they gave me a brand new 3g 16gig White.
Tip, if you used a plastic phone protector, apply masking take to the back of your phone so it doesn't get scratched up. My 1st 16gig got knicked like crazy b/c of all the debry in my pockets.

It's a nice phone, but honestly that phone is way too played out.

Zagg.com has a great cover for it. the material they use is whats on top of the heli blades they make cover for phone laptops cameras nav headunits and so on
Well what I meant was... way too many people have that phone.Originally Posted by tmoney11286

If you ran a business and made a kick ass product that no one could compete with, wouldn't you want as many people to buy it as possible?
Not really. I just can't stand when people go:Originally Posted by The_Red_VIII

Seriously, Just call it a damn phone. I have an iphone and it drives me nuts when people say that shit. Same with people with BlackBerries.

I know what you mean, But i really dont consider it a phone FIRST. Its more of a mobile multi-media communication device. Thats probably why people call it an iPhone and not just a phone. And truthfully, I use the ipod and internet MORE than I use the phone itselfOriginally Posted by AnthonyF

Info on the new one.

I saw that this morning. I'll be in line for it
Lol. The iPhone is the late 00's version of the RAZR in that it is very ubiquitous. It has its pluses and minuses. The new version is not quite groundbreaking...and neither was the 3G when it came out. Its a lot of money to pay for the addition a compass and a slightly faster phone (if you already have one).
The hardware as a phone platform probably has ~2 more years in it before it goes the way of the razr, and people start getting new phones.
Have you seen the numbers? The iPhone is the best selling phone or #2 and its not cheap like the Razr. Now with a $99 version, iPhone sales will only increase.Originally Posted by Tarzanman
I've had dozens of phones and I was one that hated the iPhone at first. Its marvelous. I keep my BB for business but it just isn't the device the iPhone is.

So..? Its got a ton of features for the price, so what if other people have it? Everyone i know has a bathroom in their house.. that doesn't make me want to build a house without one. If you base every purchase in your life on whether someone else has it, youre not going to be a very happy person. By the time ANY product is on the market.. someone else already has it. Who cares?Originally Posted by The_Red_VIII
The iPhone will never be like the razr. It was a piece when it came out and still is. And the way apple is going with a new handset every year, two years from now it can only get better
I'll be in line for this new one

The iPhone in its current state (even the new one) isn't really pushing any boundaries. 1-2 years from now, phones with less rigid control over how to use the hardware will have eclipsed the iPhone in terms of versatility.Originally Posted by 1SICKLEX

For Pete's sake, you guys don't even have MMS picture messaging until June 17! The 'piece' RAZR could even do that.
I'm not knocking anyone for liking the iphone, it does have a pretty, easy-to-use interface.... but its not top dog anymore. The Palm Pre has been getting some good press lately.
With garage band I can take anything I want and make it a ringtone.
MMS, while a new feature now, us with iPhones have had it since the iPhone was born. It's called email which was just as easy, if not easier
And as far as the Iphone not being top dawg? Sales numbers tell me a different story...
There is nothing NEW about the "new" version. You gotta give it to the Apple team, they've sold the same phone 3 TIMES, and people still line up to buy the "new" version. There's nothing new about the Iphone 3g S. "It has a 3megapixel camera." This is PHONE, it's not a dedicated camera, so the difference in camera quality is not going to be noticeable. "It has a compass." Really....a compass...and how many of you are actually gonna use this? Not just that, this is a data-based compass, meaning you have to have a data connection for this thing to function properly. So when your in the middle of the ocean or in the wilderness when a compass is actually needed, you more than likely won't have a cellular connection which means your compass doesn't work. "It has voice controls." I bet you EVERYONE has had owned a phone with voice control and never once used it. It's just not convenient and it's time-consuming.Originally Posted by Tarzanman
Your way better off buying a 3g now that they're $99 and wait for the 3.0 update. Of course, you can come to my store and pick up either a 3g or a 3g S and i'd be more than happy to sell you one![]()
FUCK GRAN TURISMO EAST!! NEVER TAKE YOUR CAR THERE, ESPECIALLY NOT FOR AN ALIGNMENT!! TERRIBLE BUSINESS!!![]()
The new one has a 32 gig flash drive and a faster processor, which everyone can use![]()
The major difference between the 3g and the 3g S is the memory space, you're right. Don't forget the Iphone 3g was supposed to have a faster processor than the 2g also, did you notice a difference?Originally Posted by hotshot

Not really. But I think in that case it was the same processor, the phone was just using less resources so it could move faster when you needed it to. In this case I think it's the unit out of the iPod touch
see the main reason i'd want a 3gs is bc of the ability to video record...but then again i do realize once you jailbreak it you can install an app that'll let you do the same thing...either way, i need to come see you soon after 3.0 hits to get my shit jailbrokenOriginally Posted by gtikid

Already the 3GS is incurring fanboy wrath: For 3G owners not yet eligible for a new phone, the 32GB costs $499 and the 16GB costs $399—and even more without contract. Three tiers of official pricing below:
How do you qualify for the announced pricing? New customer, new line of service, presumably contract renewal, that sort of thing. Update: AT&T confirms that most iPhone 3G owners will be eligible for the good upgrade price after 18 months. Last year, people who owned iPhone Numero Uno got a shoo-in, but apparently that's not the deal now. To add insult to injury, you'll even have to pay an $18 upgrade fee to jump from 3G to 3GS.
Here's the skinny, sent straight to us from AT&T:
iPhone 3G S: Device Pricing
• iPhone 3G S will cost $199 (16GB) and $299 (32GB) for new and qualifying customers.
• If you are not currently eligible for an upgrade but still want iPhone 3G S, early upgrade prices are $399 (16GB) and $499 (32GB)
• No-commitment pricing: $599 (16GB) and $699 (32GB)
WTF?
iPhone 3G: Device Pricing
• iPhone 3G will cost $99 (8GB) and, while supplies last, $149 (16GB) for new and qualifying customers.
• If you are not currently eligible for an upgrade but still want iPhone 3G, early upgrade prices are $299 (8GB) and, while supplies last, $349 (16GB)
• No-commitment pricing: $499 (8GB) and, while supplies last, $549 (16GB)
Upgrade eligibility varies with each customer, but in general, you will become eligible the longer your tenure in your service agreement. Customers can find out at www.att.com/iPhone or in one of our stores if they are upgrade-eligible.
