It's going on cingular, and you'll probably need a 60/mo plan to get the 8 gig for $600

The only reason why I wont purchase this phone is because its governed by ITunes. I'm sorry but ITunes owns you. Its too much restriction with what media you can take off and on your IPOD. Where you can upload, download, how many computers you can do it too... licensing...

Its too much drama with ITunes. In a year or so, others will come out with their on derivative. I'd rather wait that long that have to deal with "big brother" ITunes.

Cool phone. Cool options. ...but that's waaaaaay too much $ to spend on something that will be dropped at lest 3 times a day. I'll wait until the exclusive contract with Cingular is up. Hopefully by then they'll be more reasonably priced.

if you guys are getting it for the full touchscreen capability i would go with the lg prada....since apple is infamous for short battery life, and most likely it will be full of glitches...i'll just wait for the reviews to be out and decide then....getting it as soon as it hits the stores? bad idea....

i'm due for a resigning of contract so i will get the discounted price.

and how is itunes big brother?

if you know what you are doing there are so many ways around it, and who says you have to download your songs from itunes. just go to an outside source and use itunes as your media player and use it to transfer to the ipod.

I refuse to ever buy the iphone it's a cool phone and all but i like my phone and ipod to be seperate the plan is way too much and texting isn't that easy with my big fingers. I have the samsung eternity and thinks its way better and i dont have to get the iplan and i think the internet is faster and have a qwerty keypad and can send pic messages! no sim card is lame when i go to the pool or somewhere my phone can get fucked up i switch my sim into a razor i have so i dont mess up my nice phone plus no warranty and it doesnt charge when you plug it into an ihome plus you could be jammin out and then get a fuckin phone call or text!

Samsung Eternity is better? But it lacks wi-fi. I think you should actually hold an iPhone before you get to bashing comparing it to a $400 device with no wi-fi. And who said the iPhone doesnt have a SIM card? Mine does. And you still have to buy a data plan for the eternity to connect to the internet.

you guys might want to find your closest corporate store.....

Agents cant get them.....Only people who CAN get them are Cingular corporate, the apple store, and apple online due to a deal with apple and cingular and you HAVE to sign a NEW 2 year contract(or extension) and get the iphone data plan...

Just FYI for all you thinking you will get them and resell them..sucks for you guys

Actually, if you have shit credit, you can get a month-to-month contract with them; I even knew some guys who got prepaid with it.

web browser wont do java or flash..

no keyboard at all..

cannot send pictures messages.. SERIOUSLY WTF thats like basic shit..

and its own data plans cost a shit ton more than the regular ones..

seriously not worth it.

give lg, samsung, nokia, Motorala a few months they'll have something out with a similar interface but actually has all the features, costs less and prolly lasts a whole lot better.

Honestly I think it's overrated. It 's a waste of money. The price will drop in a year. Just like the chocolate. I was crazy over that phone bc it is touchscreen. Turns out.. I hate that stupid piece of crap. The touch sensitive part quit working in 2 months. And more and more problems keep coming up.
