Default Wanted to Introduce Myself and My B18C5-EH2

Some of you guys may know me, but I have a feeling most of you here do not. My name is Tom, and I've been working with Hondas since 1995 or so when I had my first car, a 90 Civic. I've been on H-T and a other honda forums for about 7-8 years now and am well-known on those forums for trying to help others out when I can with tech info, etc.

I've been an EG owner since 1997, and built my current EG from the ground up back in 2002.

The car was stripped down to nothing but a rolling shell, with no wiring, brake hard lines, dash, etc. etc.

The car has a stock internals B18C5 with i/h/e cam gears, Uberdata tuned ECU, ITR tranny I purchased brand new a few years back from the dealership, Spoon SW388 wheels with Azenis, Koni Yellow shocks with custom Eibach ERS coil-over springs with 425F/550R rates

Anyways here's a few pics - hope they show up as I'm still trying to figure this forum out when it comes to pic posting. I've got some pics of the bare shell, Spoon wheels, overall shots, etc.

Some bare shell pics - I can't find any pics of the car when it was red - they're at home I suppose, and i'm @ work.

    ...and some done shots:

Old valvecover - can't find a good shot with the current Olive Drab/Camo green one:

One of my infamous car-jumping pics:

    Spoon SW388 wheels:

Note the grooves in the wheel:

Found a hood popped shot wioth the Green valvecover:

Sorry if I've violated pic link rules - I tried to use the file upload feature here and it isn't working, or I'm too stupid to figure it out. If any moderators have a problem please let me know how to make it right. I've known Julio for years, and he could tell you i'm not the kind of guy to try and create problems/make waves.

Thanks for looking. Maybe I'll run into some of you guys at an upcoming meet.

Looks great man. If it's a direct URL click the yellow box above the post you're making and paste your URL there. Hope that helps and enjoy IA.

    Hmmm...don't see a yellow box.

I tried [ img ] tags like every other site, bu after reading the FAQ I figured out that you either have to attach only 5 files from your hard drive, or host your pics here on the IA server, which for some reason isn't pulling up for me.

I swear I'm not this dumb - so is there any way to use [ img ] tags for specific image hosting sites like Photo Bucket?

I'm not trying to promote any other websites by any means, I've just got tons of pivs already hosted elsewhere.

    Thanks.

    Gee guys I'm blushing.

Funny thing about the car is that I literally haven't upgraded anything or spent a dollar on the car (except for necessities like new tires, fluids, etc.) in years. Probably 3 or more years. I guess I'm not one of those people who always has to have something to do on the car. I'm quite the opposite - I like to build something, and then just leave it alone and drive it.

It would be easy to start an entire new round of upgrades, like a K swap, turbo, wire tuck, racing seats, c/f hatch, duck bill, HIDs, etc. etc. but I'm satisfied with the car as-is.

It's nice to know that something I built 7 years ago seemingly stands the test of time though.

Thanks for the kind words guys.

Oh yeah let me clarify something:

I'm not THE mechanic guy, trust me. I've built an engine and tranny that ran amazingly well, didn't smoke, have done a few timing belt jobs, have done some swaps but to be completely honest here I'm not a mechanic. I write service/keep things going smoothly at the shop I work at, and while I can do some mechanics' jobs I certainly wouldn't do all of them.

Set me in front of an Accord, Legend, some of this OBD2 crap and I'm worthless. Start talking about boost and I will probably show my knowledge limitations.

I know stats, specs, can list parts needed for a lot of swaps/upgrades, etc. but I don't ever want people to think I'm a master tech or something. I do what I can.

I usually keep an EF on hand for daily driving, and now i've got this 1990 Civic Wagovan:

Not Exactly an EF...How About EE Wagovan?

My wife also drives an 05 Element. She used to have a crazy nice 1992 Si HB with B16A2 swap, Neuspeed Bilstein full coil-overs, all a/c, p/s, cruise, moonroof, etc. etc. She wanted an Element since they came out, and at the time I had an EG and an EF so it was nice to have something different than the sporty compact hatches we had.

I find myself driving the wagovan exclusively lately because it's just so comfy, still handles great, and with the B18B swap still runs well.

For as alike as they are they're also pretty different. The wago certainly isn't knocking on 12's, and wouldn't be nearly as capable on an auto-X course as the EG, but they each serve a very specific purpose.

ah yes...the Legend. Everyone knows Tom on Import Lounge. He's an OG. Prolly one of the sickest hatches when everyone was like oooo, aaaahh...if they saw a c5 swap in an EG.

Welcome, man! You are definitely a Legend in my books. He's an OG on Honda-Tech, too.

My wife used to be into cars and she drove a 1992 Civic Si HB with B16A2 swap, Neuspeed Bilstein full threaded body coil-overs, Rota Circuit 8s, i/h/e, cam gears, etc. etc. She auto-X'd it for a season too.

I've attached a few pics - first two are of her 1992 Si HB, and the last one is of my old Type R powered 1992 black Si nose to nose with her B16A2 powered hatch - this was back in 2001 or so!!!

We got the Element because she wanted something different since she had her EG since she was 16 and her left leg grew tired of pushing in an ACT Xtreme Pressure plate clutch.

tom is the **** and a very cool/down to earth guy! whats up tom...hows the ef audio console holdin up i sold ya? hehe
Sold? How about gave to me! It worked out fine, and now another guy has it since he bought the whole car from me so I could get the wagon.

damn, thats a clean ass hatch man!
Thanks. I try. It better be clean since it stays garaged any time I'm not driving it, and I don't even drive it in the rain any more - haven't in years. It's a borderline hard parker now!
