I disagree. It will merely force a re-thinking of the market. When the emissions regulations were first implemented in the 70s, there was a similar outcry. We are at another bridge now, as we stare into the abyss and wonder how we will have any fun with hybrid and electric cars. In a decade or two, conventional gasoline engines will seem like ancient technology. We will get there though. No new technology starts out fully optimized.
