Well i got an idea. Bring your car out to an SCCA track day, I'll be your instructor and get some lap times, then I'll make runs in my car and we will see who is faster.

Ok if it's a D15B hatch, I had an EF D15B hatch race car, and I will tell you it's fast for what IT IS, but the other drivers have to be PRETTY shitty to get beat by it. I had a D15B2, it was an ITC race car I built, so it was quick for that, but against other cars at track days, nope, it was as fast as a mildly tuned up Miata, like shocks and springs and that's it.
I swapped in a D15B VTEC motor for Honda Challenge and it was quicker, but still not some balls out beast you are making it out to be.
A lot of the people in this thread have REAL experience, I ran Red Bull karts with MatthewAPM, Onureft does hardcore track days and I have ridden with him, Doppelgänger hauls ass at autocross, the others have experience I am just unsure of as I don't know them.
You THINK you are fast on the street, then come to a track and realize you are slow as shit. Sorry, it's just the way it is lol.
GET A 944!!!!!!!!!! perfect 50/50 weight distribution and a fucking blast to drive, cheap to fine, and not hard to work on, if you can score a 944 turbo you will be well in the 240hp!!!! do it!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hope it comes with a noose! BMW are the civics of German cars compared to them. Even when you know someone in the Porsche business parts are ridiculous. The NA can't get out of its own way with 140hp and the turbo is a 2.5L Audi engine so you know the parts are stupid expensive and questionable at best.

ahh yea, bmws are cheaper and easier to find parts for, but ill take my 944 over a 3series, i love the 3's, but driving a 944 is so much fun, i found a really good site 944forum.com and the owner buys used ones and parts them out, and i luckily have a friend that works down the street that has 2 junk ones,but and and yes an LSx wouldnt be bad lol, and the early na, yea does have like 140, but the later s2's and such have 200 right? the 3.0 liters?

When I was in NC, I knew a guy who is an instructor at VIR and he wanted me to get into the NASA and SCCA stuff. I just never got a chance to go up there with him cuz I was working so much. He said I could work some events and get some free driving after awhile.
It would be fun as hell to go around a track.
People. I NEVER said my D15 hatch is fast. I'm saying that it is slow. So I would not like to do actual racing in it against you people at the track or auto x. I know how slow my car is. It's just all the people I have raced up and down some country roads (which is stupid of me and dangerous) I have beaten. When I get more on my car, I'll be down for a track day for sure. Not saying I'm a better driver, or that my car is a beast! lol

Yep mine was the 4 speed too, technically D15B1 with a B2 head, it was built as high as you can for ITC.
As for the 944...$$$$$$..I learned with the 914 no Porsche is "cheap" even if it has a tuned VW motor lol.
And for the 944's are slow comment, umm no. They are pretty damn fast on road courses, a properly setup 944 will be SECONDS faster then any spec Miata or spec E30.
Yeah, I'd love to get a first gen b16 sometime with no mods under the hood of my hatch. Keep it clean, and stock.

E30 all the way. With a few suspension mods they run like they are on rails. They are a pretty light car.

Someone with no prior track experience can get on track with an in car instructor assigned to them for every session for $160 a day for two days. We are offering a ton of track time, with 200 minutes spread over 10 sessions. You won't want any more tracktime after your last session on Sunday afternoon, you'll want a nap instead.

how bout a s13 or s14 w/a great suspension all the way around. And plus if you want you can always throw an SR20 in it down the road.
Life begins at 6000 RPMS.. You will notice an audible change in engine noise, large increase in acceleration and any female passengers will immidiately start to remove their clothing.
Successful 240's on road courses are so few and far between. Go to a club race event and see how many there are out there. Considering it's one of the cheapest RWD's "sportcars" you can pick up you still rarely see them out there...
I'd say Erin on here has one of the quickest around but he rocking Tein drift coil0-overs and an LS2, lol!

If you wanted to do that, I would reccomend flaging on Saturday, and taking the free breakfast, lunch, dinner and hotel room that you will get, then paying for one day for Sunday. You make out getting more bang for your buck with all of the saturday perks for flagging, than you would if you took the discount that we give on Sunday's entry for working on Saturday.
