they are not as bad as ppl make them out to be... throw em together with some good shocks and they have a very decent ride considering the price

Well I just have a stock 90 civic 4dr, and I'd like to lower it (cheaply lol) and probably get a ST rear sway bar, since overall that would be about 150 dollars, and I'm on a rediculously low budget. My friend has a 240 and in my opinion it rides fine its just slightly slightly bouncy I don't know if it would be the same in my 4dr (his does have KYB gr-2's which I hear are just OEM replacement basically). Would it be a better idea to spend about 60 more and get the Megan coilovers? (the plain locking perch ones not full). Please don't recommend these 600+ dollar coilovers I'm WAY too poor for that, I just want a simple 1" drop and a rear swaybar so my car won't handle quite as shitty as it does now . As for doing autocross I've never even done it before but I would like to try it someday. I've got no racing experience at all so I'm going to do terrible but I'd at least like to have my car do a little better than a dead stock one. So what do yall think? $40 ebay's or $110 Megan's which look suspiciously similar to the ebays...

i went with the ebays and it was a pretty good ride and i dropped mine 4in so with a one inch drop the ride will probably be better imo

have you seen the picture where the sleeve tears after a long period of use because its made out of soft aluminum?

i know people who have had ebay coilovers for over 3+ years on stock struts and never had a problem. and these were as low as they went to, 3 inches or 4, idk.

I've had my Ebay slip-on coilovers for almost 3 years now & they ride perfectly fine; on stock struts too. Doesn't bounce or anything, pretty much feels stock. Don't expect to be able to take it to the mountains but they're cheap & does the job. Of course, if you have a bigger budget then go with the BIG BALLER stuff.

i would never do it. i mean, they are going to sag and collapse over time. for autox or rr, never! but if you don't mind risking it on an old car or whatever then go for it.

personally, i feel if you don't have $200 for some eibach or other quality lowering springs then you shouldn't be modding your car.

idk bout the other people using them but im only using them for a month if that till i get the rest of the money for the air ride..so mines only very temporary lowering.

Im running some middle grade (non-ebay) coilovers + tokico blues on an Integra.

The ride is okay...going over multiple bumps in a row can cause a lot of bounce. I don't have any problems on flat road/small bumps and it handles fine.

Only reason they're even on my car is I got the whole setup for $200.

I'm just biding my time while I save up money for JIC Magic <3

i couldnt find the pic i was tlaking about, but this is the closest thing i could find.
the sleeve will give out, and i guarantee you it will happen sooner or later.
after that, you'll be riding on the strut.

like i said before i rode mine for 2 years on my protege, and they are still being used on my friends mx3. but i think there ,might be a difference i got mine alooong time ago. i think now there are tons of bad companies selling shitty springs.
