sorry to ask the nOOb question but what motor is that?? very very clean!!
2.8L BMW m52 I believe.
Looks great btw. I've ridden in a semi-gutted s52 e30 before and it was unreal. I can't imagine a turbo 24v![]()

Bingo. With head gasket and studs the M52 will hold up to 25psi. Should be fun!Originally Posted by jcbe34

Don't know if you've seen this but here's a 10 sec m52 with stock internals: http://new-sweden.com/forum/showthread.php?t=391
Where do you live, I want to check this thing out sometime

Look up Ulysses aka Cardcounter on bimmerforums or youtube. He was running 10's in a 328i sedan with stock internals, full interior, etc. The only thing different looking from stock cosmetically is Kosei K1's, lowered, and a cf hood. After months of daily driving it at 600+whp he stuck it on a dyno for a day until they reached 704whp and bent a rod. He already had another engine he was working on, completely built M52 and runs 9's pushing 996whp.Originally Posted by jcbe34

He babies it off the line because the car hooks and breaks things, plus e36's (& e46's) are well known for ripping the subframes out of the floor. http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...92940614601810

I'll be happy with 360 whp at 10-12psi in a sub 2,400 lb. car. That's still probably 100hp too much for that car on a road courseI'm in the Gwinnett area but it's still far from anything pretty to look at. Trying to get motivated to go down and pull the M10 out of my car now!
Are you planning on running Megasquirt or just a chip?
I know there's a 9 sec e30 with an m52 also, I can't seem to find it though. Can't go wrong for the money, the motor costs a fraction of what you'll pay for an s5x.

damn man so fresh and so clean clean...i makes working on your car so much easier when you have a clean engine and a dry engine bay

I'm still debating, this is a single VANOS engine and it's on the fence about MS working with it or not. I'm looking at the eMS-Pro but TRM's chipped ECU is basically plug and play for a little less and includes tuning. Right now I'm just going to run a Bosch 413 DME until I put the turbo on.Originally Posted by jcbe34
I think you're talking about Donovon Marvin aka BMWSOB. He's one of the few online that have videos of an M52 turbo in an e30. The M52 has a lot more meat between the cylinders so it's far stronger and safer for boost. M50/M52 & S50/S52 are all the same block casting anyways, the motorsport engines are just a bored out version.
Definitely! I despise working on other peoples street cars because of that. Every time I changed the oil in my Integra I'd wipe down the undercarriage and suspension lol. OCD? Maybe!Originally Posted by Brock
