lol, saw you guys shootin as i was leaving school tonight, nice pics
looks like you guys have some clean cars, if you're ever in the downtown area I would love to try and help with pics. I never have anything to take pictures of and I really want the practice
quick question, why is it called Simple Minded? It's kind of like a diss towards yourselves...
IA Rules doesn't allow these images in sigs

Its catchy tho right? The pictures showed up better on my g/f's computer. I dunno why there so fuzzy on mine.
We'll definitly take u up on that offer Imbosile. I need a clean shot of the car to put on my desktop.
Thanks for the feedback guys
Alright sweet, I'm not promising anything amazing, but I think I could help ya'll out a little.Originally Posted by blank cd

the pics are grainy..

I see your shoe!
heh, try lowering the iso to get rid of some of that noise in your pics...
I think they turned out pretty good!
It was funny, we got all three cars side by side in the parking deck, and then the basketball game or w/e was going on last night ended, and like 3 or 4 people tried to get past us while we were blocking the way.
That is actually my shoe, I took that pic with his camera. I didn't want to lay it on the ground since it isn't my camera, so I tried to lay back. Didn't work out so well huh?Originally Posted by Flip

It was alright. Roller-blading was fun.
@imbosile: I'm near downtown everyday for work. I'm sure we can all figure something out.
GET A TRIPOD, IT HELPS ALOT. U CAN GET ONE FROM WALLMART FOR LIKE 15 BUCKS
^ thats what I was going to say. That'll definitely help keeping the camera still for night shots or in the dark in general. good angles for the shots though
We got one, just forgot to bring it with. We're gonna get a better camera, maybe somethin similar to that one but w/ a speed adjustment too.
Flip, i was playin w/ the ISO and the ones i shot at 50 and 100 and 200 came out too dark, i think those were shot at 400. and this adjustment, Im not sure what it was (had intervals of 1/5 1/20,30,40 up to 100 or so, then it went to 0"4 and up from there) and it kept getting darker and lighter.
Well you want your iso to be as low as possible. Next time try it at 50, but those numbers you are talking about (intervals of 1/5 1/20,30,40 up to 100 or so, then it went to 0"4 and up from there), that's your shutter speed. 1/5 means 1/5 of a second, then you have 1/20 of a second and so on. Once it gets to like "4, that means 4 seconds. You want to keep it open longer to compesate for the lower iso and lack of light.
So next time, lower your iso as far as you can, and try making the shutter speed longer and longer and that should really help you out.
Cool, i did not know that, Im gonna go play around w/ that camera a little more and try it out. +1 for you good sir
what he said, and with a longer shutter its best to set like a 5 second timer with the camera on a tripod, push the button the 5 seconds later the tripod will hold the camera steady with a wide shutter speed. cause with the slightiest movement for u pressing the button to take the picture with such a wide shutter it still could cause blearyness.Originally Posted by imbosile

Ok, im lookin at a Canon Powershot A80. The one I have is my g/f's A75. this does everything the 75 does but its 4mp instead of 3.2. Is the megapixles really gonna matter that much if im shooting w/ a high shutter speed and a tripod?

If you plan on zooming in a lot make sure you're not relying heavily on digital zoom.
ok. cause my monitor is only 1280x1024 anyway so im not gonna view anything bigger than that till i get a new computer
No but get a camera with more that 4MP though.. 4MP seems to be the low end these days.. Mega Pixels are just tiny boxes that create the picture... The more MP you have the clearer (without blur and noise being factored in) and more detailed the picture will be.. But yea listen to Chad and imbosile about ISO setting and shutter speed.. Tripod is where its @ for long shutter speeds.. Any pic composed longer than a 1/60 shutter ex: 1/2, 1/4 there is a great chance of blur...Originally Posted by blank cd
Im on a budget as far as a camera, i can aquire this A80 for less than 100. I may just hold off until later. I do plan on investing in a serious camera here when i get my finances straight. like a DSLR, my g/f is doin some video/photography stuff in school and she said she needs one anywayOriginally Posted by EJ_Allmota
EJ those wheels look fuckin sweet on that car BTW, thought i should let you know
your camera takes verry poor quality photos, its hard to get detail

yeah its only a 3.2 MP camera and i was trying to compensate by using a longer shutter speed but we forgot the tripod so it ended up being worse. The pictures actually look better on my computer than it looks on the web for some resaon (compression maybe?)Originally Posted by taylork057
