Don't disrespect that TC Sounds sub with an HFI series Hifonics amp. Plus you don't necessarily need all that power for it either, 600-700 watts would work great. Enclosure is 90% of the deal with it, stick it in a prefab box and it will only perform so well. Build something more tailored to the sub and you'll see better results. If you have the room I'd love to see it in a t-line off of 500ish nice clean watts, or maybe a low ratio 4th order bandpass on slightly more.
Now, I wasn't hating on Hifonics, but the HFI series I'm not much of a fan of. Don't do near rated power, and are just built cheaper. For good cheap-ish amps look at Crescendo, Audioque, etc.
