If I'm thinking right, the amp is a little over kill. You want to "match" the RMS ratings. That sub is rated at 500 RMS while the amp is 1300 RMS , assuming your running the 2 ohm configuration (which I believe you would since it's a mono amp). It won't hurt anything to have a slightly more powerful amp, just back the volume if you start hearing distortion. But I think that amp is a little over the top. Again, I'm really rusty at this audio shit, so I'm not completely positive I'm telling you correctly.
You'll need 4 gauge wire for the amp, I have 4 gauge Rockford Fosgate wiring running through my car, think it was a little over-priced for what it was... But it's stood up thru 8 years, 3 different cars and equally different configurations without fail. I've heard bad things about Monster cable, but I've never used it so I can't tell you first hand.
