Default Dems got the House and maybe the Senate

say bye bye individualism and personal responsibility and hello income redistribution and socialized medicine.
and I just got a raise, looks like I'll have to keep this 2nd job afterall.

Nancy Pelosi's gonna be the speaker of the house and we're all going to die. here comes "attempts" @ impeachment and other "investigations", all to make the republicans look "evil". in the mean time ignoring "real/important" issues. ie: the War against Islamo-facism, SS reform, and the FAIR TAX!

Cool, now we get to enforce the standard governmental checks and balances set up in the constitution.

haha, War Against Islamo-Fascism, I like that, very PC. Its more like the War of Forced Democracy. Funny that you phrase it like that but then come off as a very conservative person, or at least somebody who loves for one political party to control all aspects of the government.

we are now one step closer to socialism. yeahhh...

Now me and you get to watch more tax money go to the lazy. And probably listen to how they want to provided education to illegals. Just great.

we need a leader with balls enough to stand up against our major problems we are faced with right now. BUt thats not gonna happen.

So now the dems might get thier way and tax us working people even more. Like 40-50% tax isnt enough allready.

ok if we need to tax that hgih of precent.. why the hell are people making a 25K a year geting taxed around 20% +/-. That doesnt add up to me.

yes war costs money. Its not taxes as a whole that I have a problem with, its how they are implemented.

Why should a the CEO of a million dollar company get taxed 45%. When 25K a year retail stock boy gets taxed 20%. How on earth is that even close to fair?

This is why i support the fair tax plan.

This is quite normal for politics. It is referred to as "The Sixth Year Itch" or the "Sixth Year Jinx". The majority party loses an average of 6 senate seats and 31 house seats.

voting is just choosing the lesser of the two evils.....im glad the dems are back.....the "bush" has spent enough of our money and made his own...now it's time to own up to his mistakes....and be a team player instead of the guy who didn't create jobs, taxed the shit out of the middle class, and made money for personal gain hand over fist......i say give them 6 years and if they fuck up vote the other way...but for the past six it's gone to shit.....so give them a chance....

well w/ most taxes being paid by the top 10-20% income bracket fair tax wouldn't help us... most rich people i know just purchase shit under company names for write offs so a guy making say 1,000,000 won't be paying for jack shit but utilities for his personal home

fair tax i think should be for the lower income brackets; the rich don't need any help.

what are you talking about? Say i make 1,000,000 this year. Im going to pay 450K in taxes. Not everything is a 1:1 write off. Wish it was.

So the people that support people like you dont need any help? Great attitude Paul.

Fair tax plan, the way i see it will help everyone. Drug dealers, illegals, "under the table employees" will all have to pay taxes. It has its kinks that need to be ironed out, but with work I think it could be possible.

Now please. Explain to me why the "rich" dont need help. Considering the top 20% of the population support 80% of the tax base. Im pretty sure they deserve help.

Of course, we coul always go with what the dems want, 70% tax on people making over 100,000 per year. That would be great. Socialism at its finest Paul.

fine i'll break it down for you...

we'll say you make 25k a year... and we have fair tax... so you are going to pay more in taxes for the things you buy... ok cool. you go buy a new car you pay these new increased taxes for our new Fair Tax system.

now joe blow millionare in the 7 digit category goes to purchase his new ferrari under his company so his personal assets aren't touched the company pays the taxes. what exactly is he paying taxes on if he is writing this shit off? i work for an insurance company and i know for a fact we have 3 $100,000+ benz, 1 $80,000+ porshce, and a few more bmw/benz under are company for write offs for personal cars. Not a single one of the drivers are paying taxes on these cars.

If the majority of tax money in our system comes from the top 10% i don't see how it will be possible to keep making that amount for our gov't if these people are allowed to write off major purchases through corporations.

If you make more you should be taxed more, but there is a limit to this... the small amount they are paying in taxes they will never miss anyway; and your not/nor will likely be in that tax bracket so why does it matter?

well...its like this...both parties are crooked as hell....the majority of republicans are "big " spenders...and the majority of dems are middle class.......republicans make promises(bullshit) and the dems point fingers(also bullshit) truth is when clinton(dem) left office the country was in good shape...now(as in today) it has gone to shit......thats the truth no arguing with that.......65%of the country doesn't approve of the man they put into office......why???....well thats simple too...we went to war to find invisible weapons of no destruction, hunt and kill 1 man (whos family happens to own 7% of our country) btw hows that going????? so where are we left??? 2200 est. dead....no weapons, and no bin laden...well yea i can see the 65%......and i have lost family members in the desert in the last 16 years also......so don't think i don't support our armed forces.....one more thing...our fearless leader said one thing and now has changed it.....i have seen him on video state "stay the course"...and now it's become "cut and run"...if the president and his cabinet will make up their damn minds maybe they would get some support from the public...i know i would....a little!!!

Here is a quick status of what people are paying for 2001

Share of Individual Income Taxes and Income, 2001

Top 1% ------ 33.9 (these people roughly make over 725+k)
Top 5% ------ 53.3 (thes people roughly make over 280+k)
Top 10% ------ 64.9 (these people roughly make over 190+k)
    Top 25% ------ 82.9
    Top 50% ------ 96.0
    Bottom 50% ------ 4.0
so unless you are making 190+k a year you aren't in the top 10% bracket.. and these numbers were from early 2000's... so top 10% i'm sure makes more then 200+k a year.

So should a stock boy have to pay the same in taxes as a guy making 1mil a year? i don't think so.

now joe blow millionare in the 7 digit category goes to purchase his new ferrari under his company so his personal assets aren't touched the company pays the taxes. what exactly is he paying taxes on if he is writing this shit off? i work for an insurance company and i know for a fact we have 3 $100,000+ benz, 1 $80,000+ porshce, and a few more bmw/benz under are company for write offs for personal cars. Not a single one of the drivers are paying taxes on these cars.

If the majority of tax money in our system comes from the top 10% i don't see how it will be possible to keep making that amount for our gov't if these people are allowed to write off major purchases through corporations.

If you make more you should be taxed more, but there is a limit to this... the small amount they are paying in taxes they will never miss anyway; and your not/nor will likely be in that tax bracket so why does it matter?
there are no "write-offs" under the Fair Tax. you buy something, you pay taxes on it. simple as that. whether it's a Co. or a person it dosen't matter.

    wrong under Fair Tax:

"If, however, they use their money to build job-creating factories, finance research and development to create new products, or fund charitable activities (all of which help improve the standard of living of others), then those activities are not taxed."

loops holes like this will help the rich get richer while the lower 50% of the USA pays more for taxes under this plan

1st I don't knwo if that is accurate, let me check tonight and I'll get back to you.
ok, you went from buying a Porsche to building a factory and funding charity?

ANYTHING is better than the current tax system. also, the "rich" will get richer and the poor will get poorer no matter what. that's why they are like that to begin with.

Interesting. Where does that say my new ferrari wont be taxed because its a "company" car?

U do have a point, either way, we are screwed, im just trying to be screwed with lub, instead of raw. catch my drift?

I will continue to dissagree with you that "the rich wont miss it" refering to the so called little tax money they pay.lol

I know when i sell a land deal, i try to wait a year. because if i dont, its short term capital gains = 45% tax. And there is no getting around that. This is the business i am begining to know, so i see the taxes. Now do other sectors maybe get away with getting a 100% write off on the CEOs new ferrari? I hope not. But im sure there are people that pull it off.

Im going to research that quote of yours tonight, if that really can be used to the point your claiming it can be, i will be dissapointed. Thanks for shedding light.

And of course a stock boy shouldnt pay as much taxes as a million dollar ceo. But he should pay the same precent. That doesnt happen. We punish the producers and support the abusers. Its simple as that. You are obvious for this way of thinking. I am not.

It doesn't say anywhere that it won't be taxed but we are discussing personal income tax.. i know if i owned a company i would use all major purchases as company write off's... which can be easily done when you have a staff dedicated to your accounting

now my question is why should a stock boy not be entitled to the same? some will say he is but in reality we all know the truth to that question. I know within 2 years my wife and i will be in the upper paying brackets, but that is expected... You make more you spend more you pay more. Its just how it is. But I don't see the Fair Tax fixing all of our issues.. i'm totaly for it if we have a full proof plan but it isn't there yet nor are we ready to go that route. This isn't a thing we can just try out to see if it works we are talking about reinventing the wheel.

Loop holes will the fall of this system much like our current tax system. If its a fair tax there should be NO loop holes. I'm sorry but multi million dollar churches should have to pay the same in taxes that a mom/pop shop does. The problem is where the lines are drawn on where taxes don't have to be paid.

One other big assumption about Fair Tax is the spending habits... the Top 50% of tax payers pay roughly 95+% according to the 2001 tax break down above. So that Lower 50% is only going to continue to provide 5% of taxes? Sorry but thats a big assumption to this system; just b/c some people make more doesn't mean they are going to be purchasing more and the % will stay the same. I would be awful afraid to see what would happen if they are wrong. (some things would be nice to loose welfare, etc but i education and other things may start to get cut)

ps. that quote was from fairtax.org if i'm not mistaken... i'll have to find it again.

ok explain but i thought the point of fair tax was to make it easier? i am fimiliar w/ fair tax maybe not 100% on everything but i've read about it and listen to Boortz.

there are loop holes i've already posted them... and there is a big assumption w/ the plan that tax % will essentially be the same as cost are going down on goods. i don't really see that happening. thats just me. I personally don't see any advantage for the Million Dollar man to go this route if he can't write of his house/cars
