Here is a quick status of what people are paying for 2001
so unless you are making 190+k a year you aren't in the top 10% bracket.. and these numbers were from early 2000's... so top 10% i'm sure makes more then 200+k a year.Share of Individual Income Taxes and Income, 2001
Top 1% ------ 33.9 (these people roughly make over 725+k)
Top 5% ------ 53.3 (thes people roughly make over 280+k)
Top 10% ------ 64.9 (these people roughly make over 190+k)
Top 25% ------ 82.9
Top 50% ------ 96.0
Bottom 50% ------ 4.0
So should a stock boy have to pay the same in taxes as a guy making 1mil a year? i don't think so.
