your thoughts on Black History Month

How many whites in the south are TRULY interested in black history though? I dont want to come off hostile in any way but hell a lot of whites here dont even like being around black people let alone try and learn something about their heritage.

I've always been interested in all facets of history. Having a black daughter and a couple of relationships doesn't make me a "know-anything" about black culture, but the fact that I was/am interested gave me my knowledge.

I dont see the problem with a month of recognition personally.

Black history month isnt being forced on anyone, if you don't believe then don't celebrate.. pretty plain in simple.

That's why I kept asking how it hurts people to have it. Why complain about it if it isn't affecting you. Lolol. And I'm white! Yay! Later, QD.
