Getting A Title From GA

Ok, here's the situation............

I bought a 78 Civic last year that was last titled in California. There was no record of it at all being registered in GA. There was no title period. Here's what happened

I called the city police department that I live in(non-emergency number). I had to wait around for an available officer. Luckily that took only about 20 minutes or so. He had the forms with him. (Keep in mind that I did not have to go anywhere or get any paper work or pay any money). He walked around the car and looked at it and did a VIN verification(called the VIN # in just to make sure it didn't come back hot). After a total of about 15 minutes, he signed the form and told me that everything was good to go and gave me the form. I simply took the form and my insurance card to the county tag office and paid about $60 for the new title and tag for the car. The title only costs $18. The tag and ad valorem ran about $40. i think you my friend are talking about a bonded title

i assume the 240sx was totalled (frame damage) and bought back as a parts car, w/ a salvageable title...

he goes to get the title salvaged to the inspection, they deem it to be street legal, he gets title 2 weeks later.
