I choose the GTI as well. Although, the Mini Cooper S is an outstanding car for the streets. For a FWD car, it really handles well and surprised me with its capabilities.
^^^thanks for copying my avatar quote. I had to change it again.
I would drive a 75 gti with a cage and coilovers. They always busted my ass in autocross. Thats about it. maybe a g60 corrado. maybe.
Don't really like any of the choices though.
wooooo ... v-dub bitches
I dont know why, but I've loved the Mini's since they came out... The VW would be my 2nd choice.
YOU GOT AN F.for my VW brothas \/
VW is currently using Mini's marketing company...i just learned this from the BMW magazine we get at work. Awesome.Originally Posted by admin

Out the three, I'd take the Mini S. Too bad they're so overpriced.![]()
never really like VW, but the new 1 is hott and I like the commercials!
GTI FTW !!!
NY STAY HIGH !!!
GERMAN ENGINEERING IN THE HOUSEE....lmao.
BUY MY HATCH <--click the link, cuz.
Civic Si for Chassis, engine can be improved, most potential, i chose that.
But as my only car a 6spd GTi would be my pick.
Mini, I love them so much, but im a pretty big guy.
Both cars are barely quicker than the normally aspirated Civic Si (6.6 sec., 15.0 sec.)Our navigation-equipped test car represents the screaming deal of the three, coming in at $22,490, thousands less than the more option-laden Volks-wagen and Mini.I would choose the civic. I can take the $8K price difference, and make it boosted like the other 2, and it would be faster. Then with the leftover cash I can pay for the first 5 yrs of gas.In the company of the Mini and GTI, it's nearly as good just about everywhere, proving to be the most versatile handler of the test, but also the one hampered by its engine's narrow powerband. More torque might have put it over the top.
I would so buy a mini, just so I could paint it clown colors and put a cool tooting horn on it.

I'm startin' to think you got a clown fetish... Kinda like the opposite of Ren. lmao.Originally Posted by Dragonfly5338

i don't know which one they tested but i went to a dealer starting at 22k for the new gti w/ a 5spd... they had one fully loaded for 24k and it's already boostedOriginally Posted by civic95

Leisa and S. 4 Life NM?
the fully loaded gti with everything possible from dealship, not counting roof racks or shit like that, is 26k. not bad for a 2.0l turbo 6 speed. it was one of the nicer cars ive driven. plu, u cant touch a reported 37 mpg highway for a turbo car.
When I was a child, I used to talk as a child, think as a child, reason as a child; when I became a man, I put aside childish things.
svt focus owns you !!!!!!!!!!!! lol
i would pick the gti out of that group, who can beat a german turbo car !

Looking for a shop that does quality work??
Mainstream Performance is the place to go
"Don't make excuses...make power"
Its reported as 32 HWY, and with a 6 speed thats not that hard to achieve. 65 MPH probably will be around 1800 RPMs in 6th.Originally Posted by cherry kool aid
GTI w/o a moments thought. Its 200 hp, but a $599 chip makes it a monster that the new civic will never be able to tame.

2006 GTI 2.0T
91 octane 93 octane
246hp/282lb-ft 252hp/303lb-ft
Id take that new GTI over any of the other 2 for sure.

yeah. we drive tanks.
1/4 w/ a chipped 2.0t would put you low 13 or high 12 depending on driver.... all german cars are known for weight alot of sound deadoning, heavy carpets, etc... i know taking out my rear seats and spare saved me 200lbsOriginally Posted by ironchef
also on the GTI you can get automatic w/ paddle shifting(quicker than the manual)
yes sir and GIAC is always known for being stronger and more aggressive chip so i wouldn't be surprised to see over 300lbs easyOriginally Posted by ironchef

Definately GTI. I'm kinda biased though.
