So, this is a slight debate me and a couple of friends have about a motor that has been purchased for a car I am working on. This is also a general question as far as settings with the ECU. Initial plans are a stock swap but gearing towards being a bolt on "build." Car will be a decent daily driver with plenty of power. For all intense purpose of this discussion, the word "stock" refers to the motor; not the car. Please keep the debate clean and neutral with no bitching. This is really a discussion for the people that know this setup (Emmino, h22jones, and a couple of friends) and exactly what I am referring to so noobs.......just sit tight and learn something. The motor has to last a while so I want opinions from every angle. There will be a possibility for high RPM runs but most of the time the car will be driven normally as a DD.
Car: '93 Accord DX
Motor: H23A VTEC <~~Not USDM.
Initial mods: BS intake, stock IM, stock motor internal wise, stock header, factory replacement cat, rebuilt 2.25" exhaust.
ECU: chipped PO6
Dilemma: Redline RPM point, shift point, and VTEC crossover point.
Stock redline is 6200. Motor is known for making 197hp@6800.
