Default now for the turbo crap

well as a few of you might already know i currently have

    b18b
    gsr crank
    eagle h beams rods
    je flat top forged pistons.
    fctory sleeves
    9.5 :1 compression

what is my best bet for boosting this sucker.....

how much horsepower can the factory sleeves handle for a d.d.

    recommended injector sizes and types.

im thinking about using a t28 oil and water cooled...is this good?

whats the difference between making power from timing vs boost ?

anyways i dont really just want to piece together a t3/t4 run of the mill bs setup. i want a good well built turbo kit that will last and perform.

factory sleeves=400-450whp for a good amount of life. 500whp if you're not too concerned with anything past 8mo-yr (it may last longer than that too).

are you running the ls head or a vtec head...what about intake manifold? ls intake and head will hold you back from exceeding the sleeves unless there is extensive headwork.

you want to make power from timing and boost. you want to be at the optimal timing for all boost settings. i don't know if i really know what you're asking, but you don't want to just keep turning up the boost without tuning the timing as well. too little timing=higher cyl temps and poor power production.

im running the ls head with a skunk 2 pro mani....

what i was talking about is a guy back in va tuned hondas and was getting almost 16 psi to a factory ls. he kept saying something about making power on boost rather than on agressive timing..... his tunes were highly sought after and popular...... but i really am not to sure on what all he was talkin about.

thanks for the info.... how might i get started picking out a turbo and injestors.... i am thinkin about welding up a log/ tubular manifold. to allow ac and ps. or using a cast mani. will this be a factory in turbo choice?

If you are using a LS head you are going to be limited to about 325-350whp. Your block can handle that no problem. As for injectors I would not go any smaller then a 550cc. As long as you are getting tuned you can use anything from 550cc to 1000cc. As for turbos if you want to use a T28 sized turbo you are going to have to run one of the bigger ones (GT2871r) to make the 300+whp. Also, remember that if you run an internal wastegate turbo it makes it a little more difficult to fit with a/c.

The engine could care less about how much boost it sees, its the horsepower and torque that makes the sleeves and parts fail. Timing is everything...to little timing it can mis fire and break up and overheat the cylinders and BOOM. To much timing and its almost the same situation.

The correct term is "cylinder pressure"! To much of this cause's bad thing's to happen if the parts are not up to the task!

Greddy kit... Safe (with a tune) and fits great... Quality kit in my opinion for a daily driver...
