Either way, right now Dan is finishing up his 350 with the LS6 (pretty big) and in the meanwhile we are hoping the prices will go down on the Vette or CTSV so we can buy one. 1 big shop project at a time is all we can handle.

Yea. It's a long thread. I mentioned somewhere that we are trying to find one at a good price (Vette), but people are still out of their minds with the way the economy is and the problems with GM. They are still priced like it's 2006 and the C6 just came out. We don't want to make a bad investment and pay way too much. Dan looks everyday for the right one....which basically means crashed or flooded since we would just tear it apart first thing anyways. Doesn't make sense to buy one at full price.

Who knows. It may be never in all actuality. When we made this thread, we were ready and then realized the prices were way high. So, if Dan never feels comfortable with the prices, we will never get one

id say the vette ive seen some forums and pics on other websites about a few mods they do but i havent seen one seriously modded. plus i like the guys idea about seeing a import shop do a domestic that would be on steriods

i say g8. from a consumer stand point it seems you get alot for your money compared to similar cars.

But I choose the IS-F based on the fact that this is a COMPLETELY new engine and a fairly recent platform...
-Factory bad-assery is there
-Would be a nice upgrade to your past cars
-lightning fast paddle shift is something new to play with
-bump the compression a little (maybe leave it the same and fortify it) and throw 15lbs at it thru a rotrex supercharger
-has "new clientele but keep the faithful fans" written all over it
keeps stealth, clean looks, etc. super dope wheels and subtle aero, better suspension, etc...and get rid of the God-awful bumper exhaust tips...lol

IF YOU VOTE PLEASE POST WHY YOU MADE THE CHOICE IN THIS THREAD.
So with all of my depriciating assets (cars) getting sold recently we are now looking for a new project car.
We want something that can do all of these things well. I would want at least 1000 hp in the new car. I also would want the best bang for the $$$$$$$$ spent. So getting a Viper ACR and putting twin turbos on it probibly would not be the best bang for the buck. We want big power and not a lot of spool so a 2 liter wont do it. I would say 2.7 liters at a minimum (example: Subaru stroker, lol, 1000 hp in a Subaru). Just kidding, no 4 cylinders this time, 6 cylinder is the minimum.

r35 gtr: no. why? its just the new fad and everyone is jumping on board. soon to be too common.
r34 gtr: no. why? all your big name shops (ie: top secret, jun, etc) have already built it with big power. again, too common.
z06: yes. why? bang for the buck. there's a TON you can do with the ls7 engine. everything from n/a to big boost is achievable in this facory race car that can still remain streetable
new ctsv: it was really a tie, imo, btw this and the z06. main reason is big power is easily attained AND nobody has done one yet (to my knowledge). either one would be cool, but i feel the z06 is more of a hardcore racer.
gt500: less bang for teh buck. much heavier than the c6 from the get go. already boosted to get some good power, not much room for improvement.
viper acr: amazing car! however, bang for the buck when it comes to modifying isnt there. HELLA EXPENSIVE!
g8: i love the cars, but they're also too heavy to be a true competitor as a race car. they do make good power tho.
sc300: maybe. while not as common as the gtr's, its often not respected as a true race car. dont get me wrong, big power can be made, as you guys already know what to do with a 2jzgte. thats a fact.
ISF: do you really want to start out with well over $300k just for the car? hella dope car, but no where near what i would consider building. also due to low numbers, that bitch would be staying 100% stock if it were in my hands lol.
How about you tell Moby to put the damn Poopra back together and run it as a street car like previously discussed...

The Supra is gone. Dan parted it out months ago and it was well worth it. Dan made all of his money back and then a few thousand more.
the c6 z06 or the viper.. why the ACR though? Why not just get an SRT-10 Coupe and build that? That's a lot more cost effective. If you do the srt-10coupe then definitely the viper!

Not much room for improvement? Hardly, Livernois Motorsports got 900rwhp out of a 500 with a twin turbo setup on stock internals and block.
But I can agree the weight distrubution in the 500 is weird as hell.
We are getting the Vette. Period. I think we will have it by the end of the month.
i voted for a G8 - the car is an excellent platform for power IMO, the Holden design looks absolutely incredible and is not something seen on a daily basis. It'd bring a lot of attention to the shop.

Here's the problem with that car, in a few years, it's not going to be shit b/c there will be no parts for it.
I believe any GM car will be pointless to build b/c there are SOOO many LS platforms that so many shops are building.
