Default Need a new DD, what do you guys think?

    I really like this one.....here

Boost is a must, and under 10k. I have two kids so I need plenty of room (4door), I want it to be something I can have fun in when I'm alone, but also be a family car. I'm looking at WRX's and SRT 4's.
Any input from owners or previous owners will help, Thanks.

Not a big fan of wagons... but it sounds like it fits your needs. Good luck searching!

I'd go with a Lexus IS350 of IS-F though... lol.

    Do not buy that one.
I test drove it a few months ago and it runs and drives like doodoo.
That car has been sale for months if it indeed has not been sold yet.

The tranny was shot and they supposedly fixed it but when I drove it, it didn't seem to be 100 percent legit.

This car used to be at a car lot on Buford Highway that closed.

^Thanks for looking out. And TRD boost is a MUST lol, and under $10k. Kinda leaning toward the 04-05 SRT4 and bigger FMIC, stg 1 mopar injectors, a good wastegate, 3in. exhaust and tune.....that should max out the stock turbo w/ a good SAFC.

The one I'm looking at is 60k miles with only a CF hood and wheels, but its also a long drive to get it......I like the wagon, but a wrx doesn't look DIY friendly to me, thats why I'm asking for peoples input.....how easy is a turbo swap on a wrx, its easy on a srt.....how easy is it to install a FMIC on a wrx? see where this is going?

Thanks for seeing that part..... . So far the SRT 4 seems to be the best bang for the buck, and I'd think be easier to work on if I had too.

I'd pick a srt over a w. even tho srt's handle like crap, have manual rear windows, and are fwd, they can still be made fast cheaper than a w.

Plus you can buy your mods directly from the dealer if you want.

I wouldn't mind having a WRX wagon, it would be perfect for my dogs and it would be fun to boot. I'd get a WRX over a SRT-4 any day, SRT's seem to be ragged on a lot more and WRX's seem more reliable, Subaru is a more reliable brand across the board.

id get the srt4....i just seems like it would fit your criteria b/c cause if you are unfamiliar with the wrx motor it makes it just that more difficult...id say in your case srt4 ftw...

Yeah, I'm gonna stay with the stock turbo, go with a bigger FMIC, needswings 3" DP, better WG, and stg 1 mopar injectors with a tune. That is if I get it.

I'm biased but I'd get a WRX. SRT-4's can be made faster for cheaper, but if your car is a daily driver, the creature comforts of the WRX win (plus AWD>FWD). It is a little less DIY friendly, but people do their own turbo swaps all the time.

Subaru also has a great built in community. If you ever have an install and need an experienced hand, buy some beer, post up on WRXAtlanta, and someone who has done it before will be there to help you out. Not to mention, you're a lot less likely to get pestered by ricers in a WRX wagon than an SRT4.

I just found that wagon, but someone said they drove it and it was crap. But I have always liked the bugeyes. There aren't as many around in that price range though.

If your worrying about carrying your kids, and want room for dog and stuff. I would get the Volvo. After a while as you get older and the kids get older you can still keep the Volvo. At this point you would 've ditch both of those cars to get a real family car that safe and fun to drive. I'm bias because I have a Volvo 850r and I keep fighting my self to let it go.

I already have the kids and dont have any pets to carry, I need something I can get car seats in.......and a z28 isnt it. I want something that has somewhat of an aftermarket industry and my kids are hardly ever in my car because I have a 07 civic as well but my wife drives it. I need something under 10k, that I'll love driving but can fit car seats in when needed.

V70R is a little bit pricey, but how about this:

    http://atlanta.craigslist.org/ctd/1139353241.html

Power and hottness of the R can be had for the remaining 2k of budget, just FWD instead of AWD.

Well that's why I said the Volvo, it's a very roomy car. The T5 engines have a flat torque curve and have aftermarket support, well not as much as the other two cars mentioned. Like the ones posted or the older 850/S70 models will fit your bill with room for 5 or more. They do come in stick!
