Way to much money for me. I'd rather start building a house or something with that kind of dough. Maybe build a K-swapped civic in their somewhere. Haha.

For 80K, you are at the point where you could build a group N race civic.
But, that's you so i'm not one to judge.
i love honda's just as much as you do, but 80k?Originally Posted by Humphries
i think i would be more willing to join the military and go to japan and buy it. free shipping back to the states and then just pay to have it registered and titled.
which if things play my way right now, i will be in the military and maybe get stationed in japan for a little while. if thats the case, i will be coming back with a car.
just gotta see how things play out, cause i don't want to get too far ahead of myself, lol.
oh, car looks really good, but they should have made it a coupe instead.

$80K price tag is derived from simple supply and demand.Only 300 are made, therefore people are willing to pay that much for them.. I love it personally and would buy it if I had that money to throw around.
I think Mugen should make another production run of a few hundred more in LHD.
^Cool vids btw.
I wouldnt pay that much for a honda !
But someone out there will....
Not gonna lie if I had to choose GTR or this, I would take this.
for the right nsx i wouldOriginally Posted by cactusEG

hmmm,i think ill have to take a C63 AMG over the mugen

I bet this Civic will last longer than the GTR, and im sure its Warranty is better
I agree 100%.Originally Posted by hotshot

Some say that his politics are terrifying, and that he once punched a horse to the ground...
But would it have sold out of they were asking 80K for it?Originally Posted by Humphries

I'll probably wait until the price depreciate a little though.. as in like ~20% of what it is right now
^Yeah right. I'm sure you will buy one..
$16-20k for a that car isn't bad if you think about it. An 09 civic si goes for a little bit more than that. Say both their values depreciate in the next 3-5 years, an si would still be ~9-10k? Throw another 6k in and you'll have a rare and mean looking civic that not a lot of other people will have.Originally Posted by simontibbett
With as many honda lovers there are in this country, that civic will NEVER depreciate to 20k unless it's been totaled.Originally Posted by EcKoBoi770
Ricer is thought of with GTR just as equally as Civic.
After driving a Mugen Civic my view on a 30k Civic QUICKLY changed...
Is it really that good? I know the Civic is really fun to kick around and it's always willing to play no matter how hard you thrash it, but I still can't imagine how it could warrant an $80,000 tag, even with the 40 bhp bump and the rarity of only 300 being built. I could get an Audi RS4 Cabriolet for that much...only 300 of those in the US. Maybe I'm just missing the glow of enthusiasm around this car.Originally Posted by simontibbett
I can almost understand for the Experimental Spec Mugen RR...it looks wild with all the carbon fiber and aluminum, but I still can't figure how it'd fetch more than $40,000. Must take a real enthusiast/collector.

Not true at all, and you know it.Originally Posted by simontibbett

Civics are great but there are better cars out there for THAT price to modify. Hell, if I could fit in one comfortably I'd buy a miata over a civic.
If I had to drop $80,000 on a Honda...it'd have to be an NSX. The car's nice and all for its exclusivity, but honestly...it's still a Civic.
i fail to see how in any mindset, other than a delusional one, a civic of any kind is worth 80k.
i've never seen mediocrity so highly worshiped.
for 80k you can have this \/ and still have cash to spare.
at least if you drove this you could have a reason to be an asshole about how much better your car is than everyone else's.

exactly. thats the only reason why this car is being valued as much as it is. car has parts that will be very limited and hard to get a hold of. and once they're gone, that's it, its gone. its kinda like the r34 v-spec. very limited on how many were built.Originally Posted by SPOOLIN
honestly, its a nice car, but the likely hood of getting one, almost non-existent. not saying i never would, but its damn near close to it.
The Mugen Civic I drove really was fun, bone stock. It's not just a Civic with a body kit, there is some real crazy things on the car, it handeled really well and was a blast to drive, the power was not huge or anything, the motor is a stock K20 in those I think, but still that powerband is fun. I wouldn't buy one, because I would rather have something else for 30k, but I really think it's WORTH 30k.
