    Default Turbo DelSol Won't Idle...

After you try to crank it a few times it eventually does crank but will not stay running unless you feather it and it still runs ROUGH. T3/T4 turbo setup... Trying to find simple answers first...Thanks in advance.

From your description of the problem… I’d say it is the MAF sensor is acting up possibly causing the conuter valve to open too early. Check your conuter-valve to make sure it’s not causing a left handed smoke-shift pattern. If that's not it, the trezzle rod might have become un-seated from the V-tec solenoid. Which as we all know puts the cam lobe 3 degrees off timing causing an erratic idle.

lol, I know it's a very vague description. The problem is the car was a repo..So the guy who has it actually has no clue about the car...Didn't even know what an intercooler was...So I myself have VERY limited info...

well dont look at it as oh my gawd there is a turbo. the motor it the same until you get into boost. just view it as any regular motor and do what you would to diagnose it.

lol...This isn't my first rodeo...I could really care less about the turbo,It's just a JDM T3/T4 setup...But the car is immaculate inside and out...And it's dirt cheap.

if it's a repo and the guy didn't know anything about it i would say it's probably untuned and/or toasted piston(s). any cel...if so, what are they for?

compression test first to rule that out.
fix any cel issues if any.
    tune it third.

Thanks guys really appreciate it, Yes the Check engine light is on. So I guess I will check compression and if that is good roll it next door to auto zone and check the codes.

its obd1 autozone will not check codes there for that. you can diy, if you get to the service connector on the pass side by the ecu. If you do count the flashes and see what ya get.

figure the codes out first. fix that, then if still having issue then compression test.

i don't know how many threads i respond to a poster question with my question "any cel". guys/gals, if the cel is on check it...it almost always points you in the right direction and can be a quick and easy fix.

where is the trezzle rod? will i see it if i pulled the vtec solenoid off? i changed my cams in mt b16 for some type-rs and now vtec isnt acting right at all and my timing is dead on.

I connects the 3rd camshaft lobes to the vtec solenoid via a magnetic field.... Once the solenoid gets enough pressure, It sends out a series of precisely timed magnetic pulses to engage vtec.

so, could that be my problem? my car runs fine until vtec, then it acts like boost breaking up. (it not boosted), but that is what it feels like.
