lol a type S isnt 195 whp its more about 160-170whp remmber it has low torque it losses alot of power but ye a best bet would be to go with a Dc5 i like em alot more than a celica

check out www.clubrsx.com very nice site to see parts issues and tastefully modded dc5's

I based what I said off of modified RSXs I've seen, I didn't know what kind of HP they had stock.

um 99% of the celica's i see there is a girl behind the wheel! and i dont consider a s2000 or a miata a girls car (and i dont like miatas)

I have easily beaten a GT-S in my GSR.... I also however have beaten a RSX-S in my Stock GSR... I would say the RSX-S is faster though. It was a much closer race against the RSX.

Most of the girls I have seen behind the wheel of a Celica are girls...so the term comes A girl's car lol. S2K to me looks more like the BMW Z3 or Z4 and Miatas are driven by a few girls as well but that **** takes curves like no other...so mad respect

Oh and have you ever seen any of the Spec Miatas??? Little Monsters.

Personally, RSX. It responds amazingly to mods and handles very well compared the GT-S. Both great cars but I think the RSX has the slighter advantage.

You MUST have raced that blue one in gray. that thing is balls slow for some reason. My RSX with I/H/E KILLED every integra I ran across that was non-F/I.

RSX more availabe mods period. So much stuff can be done to taht car vs Celica...barely. You can turbo it but's about it. Not much potential out of that engine.

i dont get why ppl always say miatas are gay, or chick cars or whatever. i mean if you think about it a miata has all the things a true sports car needs. its well balanced 50/50 classic front engine rear whell lay out. rather large brakes for such a small and light car. 11 rotor in the front with 10 in the back and it weighs around 2200lbs, they have limited slip differentials, unlike most other cars, there is a 6 speed option. its not the most powerful car now by a long shot but i dont understand how they have almost no respect. is it the look of the car? im just curious as to what you guys think.
I asked a girl if i could buy her a drink, she said I have a boyfriend, so I said, well i have a goldfish, she said what? I replied, oh I'm sorry I thought we were talking about shit that doesnt matter.

Get a hatch and thro a K20a in it.. Celicas ****ing blow.. my friend had one he had CAI and full non street legal exhaust with a chip and tune and it was stil pretty slow he managed to break 14's but still. for the money he invested it was no where ear worth it. RSX are like land yahtes. good cars but big and heavy. with the celica VVTL is like V-tec cept it is always engaged but not as effective as V-tak.

youre right but i dont understand do you beleive that your honda civic is a sports car? im pretty sure if a stock civic d series and a miata went at it the miata would win in drag or circuit

huh! come on man i dunno where you get this info! there arent any chips available for a celica, and VVTL works exactly like i-VTEC does, it has cam advancement/retard as well as lift. vvtl engagement sounds exactly like vtec too.

out of the box the celica sits better and drives better imo, but the RSX definitely has more potential as far as modding.

if youre talkin about a k20 in a eg or ek thats dropping a very powerful motor in a very light car...thats not a celica vs a rsx thats completly different. vvt is pretty much the same thing as v tec. its not always on it works exactly like v tec it switches cam profiles at higher rpms. its not always on that dont make sense. oh and jus for the record im not a fan of the celica. rsx all day

yea stock type s vs stock gts celica...the type s would probably win in a drag race...now in a circuit im not sure but the rsx makes more power and torque and i beleive they are about the same weight so i think it would win. your friend probably boughtthe base model rsx not the type s.

the rsx engine is far superior to the celica engine...end of story. I like the way a fully loaded GTS looks and feels but they just don't cut it in this comparison.

id sill rather have the lighter car, with the smaller engine making almost the same power..just slap on a S/C and the celica should be fine and a auto x monster

also it does work like I-vtec and I-vtec is always ingaged.. I-vtec is completely different for the mostpart from V-tec because it makes use and gaines power at low rpms and high istead of just high rpms

and no i don't consider my Civic to be a sports car... how ever the insurance people do.. cause it's a two door. also i don't consider the miata to be one either.. it more like a go cart or a gay mans car hell even a girlie car like the celica. i mean come on the dor handles are so samll you have to use one finger to open them...

Wow can't believe this thread is still alive. Yeah seems like the RSX is just a better car in general.
