GSR swap???? is this a good price??

ok. i got a guy who will do a complete swap for me in my CRX for $1000. that includes the complete GSR swap, wiring, CPU, tranny, the works, and that includes labor, taking mine out, and swapping this in...

all numbers are legit, so its not hot or anything, and its out of a 97 teggy with 70K.....is this a good deal??? ive never looked into pricing before for this kind of swap, so i wanted to see what the rest of yall thought.

thoes swaps go from about $2000 and up, so you're getting a deal there girl, espically when it's being installed

install price thats about right.

If thats install AND MOTORSET, NO WAY, run now.

Check with shops too, you can get a reputable shop to do it for $1000 labor instead of an individual.

a GSR engine swap BY ITSELF goes for $3000 from any plae that is worth a damn

youll need the HASPORT Cable to Hydro conversion kit as the CRX Is cable trans, an the GSR is hydraulic ($550)

EF Shift linkage $100

OBD1 conversion $350 (harness, ecu, etc)

labor expect to pay around $800-1000

It's NOT going to cost her $1000. Believe me.

When dealing with the hookup, that initial price doesn't include everything. Just like Mr.KiDD said, she's prolly going to have to pay for parts, on top of that grand, and by the time it's all said and done, she would have much rather gone top a reputable shop and had it done...

thanks for the advise, and also the ones that pmed me. i'm gonna check if he is legit or not, i'm planning on going up to the shop next weekend after i get back from FL. i'm leaving sunday, or i would have gone sooner. he is a friend of a friend, ive seen a few of the cars that hes done, they were clean, and the other guys that know him said price was for real, so idk i'll check on all of this and get back to yall.

maybe he expects 1K and boobies as payment, who knows? cuz at first he was talking about $1,600 then he said he'd do it for $1,300 for me. and i told him if he can do it for 1K i'll be down in 2 weeks and he said yeah.... but if it has anything to do with my twins, i'll stick with at least the 2K......lol
