Yea thats seriously some BS... Being banned for posting in the wrong forum like 8 days later = pretty fuckin stupid...

I can see your point with Matt, but he's never used the 800 he made.. That is a waste, I'm not in the turbo game so I can't say much here..
With K series, unless you buy a car which has the swap then the cost is still high.. Stock K or built B in a civic, umm I'll take the cheaper route!
I will not at any point drop 10k in a car.. You would never see any return from that!! I do not hate on the K cars, but for me the cost is to much..
A car is not a good investment, but you must pay to play!!
As for the H, well I could use a 92/95mm crank in the B.. But the rod/stroke ratio is retarded!! Then you have to remove all the honda BS to make power in the H.. O then you have to buy some kit so you can install a tranny which has better gearing, making the H2B..LOL
Cost is the Key factor for me, I'm older and have bills so most all the money is gone.. Then having a son, well any extra I can spend I will, but NA seems to work since I know even if using OEM parts I can make a fun little car.. I enjoy more than a roll race or dig race, mountain runs, and twisties are fun to.. Honda to me with the handling and power to weight ratio just seems best suited as my toy!!
Nick has to get out of the 12s before he goes 9s lulz, you cant talk a big game and have never made a full pass....
As far as stretch and morris, if it was for posting in the wrong section, It was for the thread they made in the normal kf section of the turbo integra, tell them to put it in here next time.....
Your a mod fix it, this is the kills forum.. It's about racing, that was a racing video.. Why ban people in here when they make things pick up??
Edit:
It's not hard for a Mod to say hey man wrong section, please post in xxxx area!!
No pun here, just understand he doesn't know..LOL
NOOB ALERT!!
Later!
Well on the mod's defense it has been posted that chit chat, videos, attn threads, etc.. be placed in the off-topic section and the other part be used for call outs only..... via this thread... http://www.importatlanta.com/forums/...rule-in-effect
If one of them gets in touch with the mod that did it, they might can talk to him about it...
Wow, OK lets ban people...lmao!!
It's no wonder these forums are dead.. :( with that and deleting people's post.. All these new mod's seem to make up their own rules, and go around deleting comments(post), banning people..:gay:
P.s
No where does it say ban will be in effect.. maybe you guys should edit the post and say:
1st time warning
2nd time 7 day ban
3rd time perma ban
That's a little more professional right?
I know it can get out of control in the other forums, but the Kills forum is dead.. We don't even need a mod in here!!
lmao
actually the mod that did it has been a mod for over 2 years
Just tell stretch and morris to post videos in the off topic section from now on
They banned Greg - 112480 for the same reason too
Easiest way i can equate it is i can run 13s in a 250whp car, i cant run 11.5s like Chip or others with a 250whp car. IE if matt only needs 600-700whp to win events, then why use the extra 100-200whp? Its like why shift at 9000 if you can shift at 8000. your motor will last longer.
Plus a 600-700whp car has A LOT going on, the potential for disaster is exponential. So i think what matt figured out a long time ago was LEARN the car at 500whp, then gradually move it up to 600,700,800 etc. Instead of just running out and running it at 40psi, learn the car, get all the bugs worked out, and gradually move up the ladder. For awhile he was building a car and running it balls out and melting pistons, breaking trannys, etc. Well i think he traded times for SEAT TIME. The only way you really get better is by practice. So if you go out at balls out and blow stuff up (WHICH IS WHAT HAPPENS WITH CARS RUNNING 30+PSI) you dont really get a chance to learn, adapt, and tweak settings. IMO of course
Agreed. I was 90% done with a K Swap 95 Civic, and i abandoned it cause i would have had a civic i had to sell for $9000 that maybe made 210whp tops. No thanks. I just lost interest and parted it out.Quote:

stroking a B Series is ok but you lose RPM which is kind of a tradeoff for any motor. But ill say the H is by far the easiest way to go. YOu can buy an H23 VTEC long block for $1000, B Series B16 trans for $500, H2B kits are $500-700, with a $300 replica header and cams, $100-150 intake manifold you can make 220-230whp out of a STOCK MOTOR with OEM reliability. its been done over an over again. you cannot do that with a B Series. No off the shelf B Series makes anywhere near that power, you HAVE to have a built motorQuote:
As for the H, well I could use a 92/95mm crank in the B.. But the rod/stroke ratio is retarded!! Then you have to remove all the honda BS to make power in the H.. O then you have to buy some kit so you can install a tranny which has better gearing, making the H2B..LOL
And when you add that cost you can see why I would rather build a B, I still like the handling of a B swapped coupe or hatch, with the added weight from an H you lose a little..
I had a H2B car, bought it for 6k... very nice EK hatch, made 207hp.. That car 1/8 mile felt great, by the 1/4 it fell off.. For roll racing on the Highway it sucked!! If I took it in the twisties under hard braking it wanted to spin out.. Not really my cup of tea, sold the car for the same price!!
So I'm still a cheap old man, and I'll take an ITR swapped coupe or hatch!! Those are the best bang for the buk!!
EDIT:
I can speak a little on the K cars, I made my sister buy an 06 SI.. That car was a lemon!! The throttle hung, tranny grinded, the car stayed in the shop because of the honda recalls and other problems.. Now given that is the motor I would choose for a swap, I would enjoy it better with the newer SI tranny, Hondata, intake, cams, and header, But again the cost is way to high..
Like I said best car I ever owned was my 200whp stock itr motor. Beat on it and it never broke and was fun. all you had to do was hop in it and drive.
I bought the car for $2200, sold the b16 longblock for $950, bought the 10k mile itr motor for $1800, swapped it in. I had $3100 in a 200whp itr swapped LSD b16 tranny Crx. Not bad
I posted a video of the blk coupe with jdm ITR.. I paid 2600 for swap, 1000 for the car.. I have 3600 total in that car, and no matter what I could flip the car and make 4-5K.. Add the rims and skunk2 pro S coilovers I still make every penny back!! Great car for little to no cost, and I bet it will run with half the cars Atlanta has NA...LOL
That motor in the Integra with only header and s300 made 198hp on import experts dyno.. ;) And yes I have the dyno sheet, and video!!
Quick pull, no tac at the time, but thanks to james for pointing out no wire in the OB2 harness for tac..LOL
It's fixed now, runs on P72 with b16 header and stock civic exhaust.. 1 owner car, title shows 4 miles!! hahaha
Due time it will have header and exhaust with Morris tune, I'll post a sheet up!!

There go as long as its a honda and you hustled to get it cheap im happy lol. H series has just always been my hustle and what i come out with cheaper at the end of the day lol. I have defended the h motor in many threads against the itr motors and the k motors but not to say it was a better motor. All ive ever said is i can build it cheaper.
Im not sure what they cost now but itr swaps were 4,500 dollars. I have that in my dads whole car lol built motor and all.
Im sure if we had a unlimited budget and didnt care how much money we put in a car our views would be different .
I dont know if yaw remember but me and tom had this same argument 10 years ago on here lol. He had a very nice and fast itr hatch but you cant say on a average itr swap run low 13 stock like he claims his did it just normaly dont happen .
I know your point, I've been lucky in the 10 years to find 2 ITR's swaps for dirt cheap.. One is JDM which has no Vin, the other is a USDM and has VIN.. I've always been a Ls/v fan myself.. If you can source parts cheap than so be it..
If I was a Baller like VtecHomo than I'd have other toys, and not a B series!! Lmao...
Until then I'm stuck with putting something together I like for a DD, like this.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=miXYftlBS6M
Me ether, they reflashed the ecu(recall) and it was a little better but the tranny was junk.. they switched the 2nd with updated parts(recall) and I still broke it.. In was in the shop 5 times, once because Honda forget to tighten the strut and the whole wheel came off, a week after that she was T-boned and they totaled the car, I was happy.. But I missed pulling the motor because the INS. got the car with-in 3days.. I was close to my first K swap for cheap..LOL
It will be interesting to see this same argument in another 2 or 3 years. think about a few things. Bs came mostly in integras and CRVs, and a few del sol vtecs and SIs, nothing else. Hs came in preludes and some accords over seas. Ks can come in a civic, rsx, accord, element, crv, tsx... there are millions of them in the world, far outnumbering Bs or Hs. Eventually I think they will become just as cheap as Bs or Hs. There are also more variations of Ks than the other motors, so there are tons of OEM parts to choose from.
K swaps can be done fairly cheap. not B or H cheap, but not much further off. Basically if you don't do K pro and like to do things yourself.
Base model RSX axles, fab up your own shifter mount, get a cheapo header, run a few wires yourself, do your own fuel line setup... it really isn't that expensive. I bet a K20A2 w/ 6spd could be swapped into a car for 4k everything included. Sure that is still more expensive than others but not bad I think to have a ~200whp completely reliable swap that can be built upon for a couple thousand more to easily make 230whp.
Ks are also great on maintenance. no distributor BS, super easy to work on. water pump and thermostat, all sensors, pulleys, etc. are very accessible. It really is a pleasure to wrench on those things. Every time I have to wrench on a B I get mad because it's all in the wrong place. bending over the car to work around the intake manifold. bleh.
Just had to add that in... Bobby maybe if you're hanging out with those guys you can wrench on a K swap a bit and I bet you'll understand what I'm saying!
O trust me I know... It's the parts to make it all work that cost!! And your right on the nose with 4K, I could do a swap that cheap.. But compare what I listed, I have 2 cars right now with ITR's.. Both of which I have less than 4K in for everything out the door..
If I run into a k24a2 cheap then it's game on!!...LOL
Now there are other options like a3 to a2 head/ valve tran swap, etc.. But add mounts, Kpro, or Emobile-bypass, harness and cost goes up!!
If I was single, with no son well I'd sell what I have and buy all the shit.. But wife needed four door and truck eats me up in gas, so I built coupe for DD.. Red bubble needs a refresh and the EF i just ran across.. Just a matter of time and the Prices will come down, or I'll find a deal and the build will began.. Never said I would not do it, just takes much more cash than I have to play with.. :)
hmmm id like to see the numbers but i think Bs were far more manufactured than Ks.
B16 came in 88-91 CRX and Civic SI, 92+ SIR, 96-00 Civic SI (US) and SIR
GSR came in 94-01 Integra GSR
B20 crv
LS 90-01 Integra
Thats ALOT of manufacturing years, granted B16 was mainly JDM, but GSR and ITR was here and abroad.
RSX was 02-06 (4 years only). 06-12 SI but how many of those are actually made compared to GSR or LS?
I think there are far more B Series in the world (although supply is running out) than K. Even the base model Civic doesnt come with a K yet, base model integra did
I can see a K24 rod and piston setup making 270, the cams are out there to make 300 with that.. Now Drag Cartel makes a shit load of aftermarket parts for the K that I dream to have but by the time I saved to buy the shit the parts would be old news!!...LOL
But yes the K is coming even I know that.. I have two light weights that would love to have a K as a heart!!!
Until then these cars will run on a diet, that includes me.. I may not win them all, but I will not be drug ether!!
Muwahahahah!!
It's getting a little crazy already. 2 years ago 300whp was quite a feat. Now people can do it with off the shelf parts. Can't imagine a couple more years from now...
I dunno how you claim such low weights on your cars. I could find maybe 50lbs to take out of the EG and I think that would be all without cutting it and it would still be well over 2000lbs with me in it.
Choice of car.. compare the 94 to the 92 & 93cx then the std 88 civic to other dx models.. then pull bumper beams, heater/ac box.. Then subtract weight for susp, I don't go rear disk because it's more..LOL
Red Bubble with front and rear seats, all panels weighs 2010lbs with me in it.. :) I weighed it at the cobb dump 2 years ago, it no longer has the skunk2 coilovers or lower control arms.. It did have steelies at the time though.
Stock listed weight
1993 Honda Civic CX HB MT 2094 lbs
1988 Honda Civic HB MT 1933lbs
Si weighs 2,480 with me in it lol. Thats why when it hits low 12s im happy .
If k series motors started rolling through my shop right now were i could get my hands on them cheap . I would consider selling my h stuff . You still have tranny problems with the k series and your still dealing with cable shift linkage . I dont know seeing whats being done on the h series motors now a days and being able to run a b series tranny i might still stay b series lol.
I dont know man i like them all . Hell id like to have a bad as car with each of these motors in it lol. But as long as gregg owns k series parts i refuse to lmao.
5 years ago I had a 88 civic which weighed 1610lb with me in and that was done at commerce drag strip, that car was gutted, chopped, etc.. All inner parts cut in doors, hatch, and qt's.. All seamsealer and undercoating remover, I sand blasted the car inside and underneth..
Skip to 1:13 and the civic in the left lane was it..http://youtu.be/n6AkQhDM74U
that crx i raced had a gsr swap and 75 &100 shot.. beat him 2 weeks in a row, he's on here, i'd have to look for his name.. :)
Yeah I dunno if I could do that to a car without putting a cage in it. seems like it would be pretty flimsy. I bought the EG from Luis wanting to turn it into a track day car.... but I might have my fun with the straight line stuff for a while first.
The road in that video looks sketchy haha...
I had cross bracing inside the car and did the tuner field scca cone crap.. Fun car, not sure I would cut another one to that extreme cause cops aways mess with me and if hit I'd be dead I'm sure...LOL
Buy you some carbon doors, hatch, then sell them when your done playing!!
p.s
That road is longer & wider than it looks, battleground's first shop was on that road.. 1 way out, and cops knew it very well..
midnight atl performance FTW .... banning in 1. 2. 3. dueces
wass good though bobby
