You are right. He probably did say that. Commerce is 2 hrs away and Reynolds is 2.5 hrs away. That is why it is a waste for us. Why would we drive that far to a track to race someone "in x months"? That is what it always is. Someone is asked to race, they say no but I'll race you at the track. Why? What is the point if you're not wanting to get a time. To be legal? Doubt it.

Well i'm just saying for someone that doesn't like going to the track i have a hard time believeing someone who says they run 9.8@146. It takes a lot of track time to run that number. Ask jerry how many parts he has gone through to run a 9.98 in his vert. Hell i can say my runs low 9s at 150 too. I mean i have the motor and turbo to do it.

As for power to weight ratio, since you all remember Jerry's car, his car is full weight. Probably around 35-3600lbs and 750 hp. What does your import make and run? Your little turbos and the few with built motors can't hang. End of story.

when was this? I started to do motor work on my car back in 1998..that was my old white lx. I know Ron from the old days when he used to drive his red car on the street a lot and i knew him when he had his black cobra convertible. I've met john v10sloboy only recently.

Here is the stuff I found. I can't find any track slips, I throw them away when they are in the car. Here is a picture of my car launching the day I ran a 9.8 with my old setup. If you don't believe me, sorry you will just have to find out soon enough. Here is also a dyno from when I originally had my car tuned on pump gas. The first pulls were untuned, the second was final tune on 93 pump gas.

The 60ft was around a 1.6 or 1.7. The car made 655RWHP and 603RWTQ on 93 pump gas. I don't remeber the 1/8th mile time. Like I said I don't keep the time slips from the track unless it is some kind of big acheivment to me. As I run the car I throw them in the console at the track and the next time I clean out my car they go in the garbage. Like I said before this is my old setup so none of this even matters to me anymore becuase it doesn't exist anymore. I don't have any times or dyno on the new setup yet.
