No power steering + r-compounds = damn hard to manhandle, especially with sweaty palms.

Completely feel ya! I drove my friends 30+ more HP than my miata with a much smaller diamater steering wheel, GLOVELESS... with kumho sticky stuff tires (LOL) and it eliminated some of the work. I was 3 secs. faster than my best time the first time ever driving his car. lol.... well he also has a thing called grip but yeah.
