IF IT USES A FACTORY ECU then its a PIGGY BACK, just like an AFC, just like a SAFC, Hondata S200, Uberdata, Crome, ETC. They all USE FACTORY ECUs so they are PIGGYBACKS
A STAND ALONE ENGINE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM would be AEM EMS, DTA, MOTECH, HALTECH, which REPLACE the ECU completely.
You get KPRO by MAILING your FACTORY ECU to HONDATA, where they then INSTALL A KNOCK BOARD and USB interface cable into your FACTORY ECU. Shown here:

SO if KPRO was a STANDALONE why the fuck would you HAVE to send it to HONDATA? answer me that. if its a standalone, theres no need to modify the factory ECU so therefore it shouldnt have to be mailed in. answer me that question.
Like for instance when you buy an AEM EMS system, it comes in a box with software. You dont have to MAIL your ECU into AEM. why ? cause EMS REPLACES THE FACTORY ECU , hence why its called a standalone engine management system.
