    My car is a 2005.

    They make the 2ZZ-GE 6 Speed only. It has the same motor as the Celica GT-S, Matrix XRS, Pontiac Vibe GT, Lotus Elise, Lotus Exige, Corolla Compressor.


    I'd say it's a close-ratio, semi-short throws, not too long. Hard to get used to at first. Stock clutch sucks due to rubber-ness in the clutch.

    And everyone's talking about the 2ZZ , so I might as well throw in my opinions about it. It's highly underestimated. It's quite powerful. Anyone who's interested in retuning, it is possible to change the lift-engagement if you have a standalone such as the PowerFC.

    Another good ECU is the Hydra EMS. Highly reccomend you get one if you plan on doing it. I was looking at HASS Turbo kits for the XRS, but I'm making it my daily. I have a secret project I'm working on.

    actually 4wd only comes with a 1zz...

    XRS is a 2zz 2wd...

    2ZZ is not a common swap because no one has that kind of money. It's not like there's tons in the junkyard or being imported either...

    Pretty much rare for anything to be swapped, but I have seen an 8thgen corolla with a 2ZZ swap, completely had a Matrix XRS setup in it...pretty sleepy if you ask me.

    outphase... is right... 2zz is not common at all... plus the tq is not really impressive... and that 8th gen is the most talk about 2zz swap... i think it happen like 1.5 years ago...

    but i do got a swap in mind right now that is just talks in the matrix world... it will blow everyone out of the waters... well at least my waters... hahahaha....

    3S-GTE in anything. It works.

    They've done it in a 7thgen Celica, as well as a Corolla.... I'd rock a Matrix with 3S-GTE and AWD train too ))

    i would kill to have a 2zz in my MKI. the motor on paper is amazing. uses alot of the later technology used in the 4age. especially the head design and use of theta plates in the headers to almost double the speed of exhaust gas pulses. stroked to a 3zz and a TRD supercharger is my Dream Track motor for the duece

    hah thanks.... after 2 days of detailing the car it looks new as balls.. just all by myself.. doing all this.. geez...

    but yeah.. i was lookin at the beams.. and i just thought of it.. i like all that n/a hp and all but i'd like something a little bigger... maybe V6 SC or Boost...

    i dont want to run around with 3s like everyone has.... so i'll have to see.. if do get a 3s.. i'll be getting the Gen 3.
