Hehe, remember, Dave Henry is your God when it comes to NA-T Supras.

EDIT: What transmission are you going to be using? TH400? Powerglide?

Dave had a 'glide in his when he ran his 9.4, but the track tech hastled him b/c of his times due to his lack of safety components and he's been using his factory 5 speed (running mid to low 10's) and destroyed it at the last race day back in October.

yeah glad you mentioned his name he is accually the one doing my current setup i only deal with him and him only. but i think im going to get a powerglide tranny yeah i know about how he destroyed his tranny i'll tell you a secret that setup that was in his car when he destroyed the tranny is what going into mine

You can take this for whatever you think its worth, but you arent going to make anywhere near enough power with the setup you had pictured to justify a powerglide. Actually to be more specific you arent going to make enough torque.

It takes a huge amount of power to make a power glide neccesary. The turbo mustang guys usally dont even run them until they get close to 1300hp.

I would stick with a TH400

If it made a full second of a difference when racing with a 'glide over the factory 5 speed tranny, I think that justifies it enough. But hey, it's his car, so I say let him do what he wants.

nice 1jz man what type of numbers you putting down

the turbo is a Garret GT42R and the reason im going with such a tranny is due to the fact that
1. my supra is auto and i want a tranny capable of handling power
2. cause im getting a damn good deal on it
3. cause of how well these trannys perform

the setup wont get me 1300HP your right about that but it will be close or at 1000HP these words came from teh man himself DaveH so im taking his words on it. but with teh tranny its a reliability thing as well as better track times but thanks for the concern bro. and thanks for the compliments and support AFSIL80 and everyone else ill keep yall posted

i have a GT40-82..... so im right there with ya i wish i had gotten the GT40-88 or a GT42..... but i wasnt sure if the engine would spool it fast enough.... now that i know... i want bigger

Thats cool man, good luck with your project. I guess your not planning on driving it on the street anymore. Should be an awesome strip car. Which powerglide is it, IE which two gear ratios
