    Default Topspeed's Suby motor package strikes again!!

    Scotty just finished doing a base breakin tune on JDM-STI'S car. Again we are amazed by what a flat tq curve we were able to achieve with our new motor package.

    Peak boost was set at 20psi falling to around 18.5psi at redline. Run was made on straight 93oct. No other octane booster or adder was used. This car clearly has a high 400hp run on just pumpgas in it once some more miles are racked up, and we up the tune to something a bit more aggressive.

    Thats kinda funny considering you told me once the motor starts up for the first time, the rings start seating immediately. Why wait and "rack up" more miles? Why not tune it more aggressive now?

    They do "start" seating right away. But it takes boost pressure and high temperatures to seat completely. Do not confuse the "starting" and "completing".
    On a side note, the car performs wonderfully on the street. It is super strong to be running minimal timing. I can't wait for the 30+ psi meth tune.

    I wouldn't say it takes boost pressure to seat completely. It takes compression, vacuum, heat, and other smaller variables to seat rings completely. Drive cycles with varying load and RPMs is what seats rings. This has to be done w/ a good tune for proper sealing. Pre-Igniton, detonation, running too rich, and overheating play a devastating role on rings sealing correctly. That's why you break a car in on the dyno whether it be turbo or N/A.

    By more aggressive I mean doing the meth inj tune. Which I don't want to do untill the rings have some time on them. Otherwise we risk washing the cylinder walls with too much meth and fuel.

    Also evo and suby motors are two different animals.

    5.7 Tundra was the one who needed the complete explanation. I know the break in routine.

    520whp/462wtq (file 41) on 93 octane and 75/25 meth/water mix. 26.5 peak psi tapering to 23 psi at redline. More to came after the AVCR install. The Hallman manual wouldn't hold much more at redline on the dyno.
    Break in was done with a .82ar hotside and the high boost was done with the .63ar. You can see the difference down low without much change up top. Run file 18 (.82ar) and 27 (.62ar) were identical as far as boost and timing and almost identical on the graph except for down low. The difference down low is night and day on the street.
