First of all.... if you are putting over 300hp/tq to the wheels in an sti then of course you will beat a STOCK R. A STOCK R will still win at high speeds though. There is no way a stock Z beat an R (stock) at high speeds from 90-140mph. Volvos like most "luxury" euros do their best at high speeds and will destroy the mentioned cars at those speeds.

The R and sti/evos are completely different. 0-50, the sti/evo will beat an R. to 60-65ish it will be even and 75+ the R will win. The Sti/evo are made to dart from one turn to the next and that is where they excel. On HPDE tracks and "autobaughn" driving the R will beat the STi/Evo pretty easily.

lastly, it's not like there are a ton of R's out there to race so I am calling BS on 80% of the claimed kills even being attempted. Most people don't even know how to tell the difference between an R and a regular S60...

Actually you're wrong, I've proved this theory before. I like the R, it's a cool car, but it's not as fast as an STI by any means, not outta the hole or up top. I'm good friends with Mikey, infact, I've helped him with his car many times, but even he'll tell you that my STI, BONE STOCK, beat him on the HWY, when he had mods. Infact, I even had a passenger while he was solo. It wasn't even difficult to pull away. The STI is lighter car, that makes just as much power/tq. That doesn't make the R a worse car, it's just different. It's not meant to compete with Evo's and STI's, it's got other competitors that better suit it.
    **EDIT**
And to add one thing, racing an Evo at 75+ will be even worse of an ass kicking than racing an STI. People have run 10's on the stock turbo, and have made 450awhp. In addition to all of that, the gearing is MUCH better on the Evo, as my STI was a VERY busy car.

hmm.. with comparable power the STi has proved to me to be the faster car @ 75+ against evos.

i have plenty of friends to test my own theory though lol. should make a cool video.. i guess that's what ill do since the kills forum is pretty dead right about now. lol

    btw. you're cool +1
