Also, holding revs works but not as well as feathering the throttle before the launch... if you blip the gas pedal and hold it at x rpm, it'll create boost and bring you to 0 vac for a brief moment and then settle back into vacuum while you're holding the revs. Now, try feathering the throttle within a 500rpm window with consistant blips of the throttle... every blip will bring you back to 0 vac... and engage the launch synchronized with when you blip the gas pedal so you launch at 0 vac or in boost instead of in vacuum. Consider it as a manual 2-step.

Oh, and ppl are right about bogging... if you bog, launch higher. If you launch higher, be prepared to fix broken shit. Wheel spin is *much* better than bogging anyday.
