Not to argue but:
NHRA Pro Stock uses 5 speed clutchless transmissions that you have to shift.
NHRA Funny Car and Top Fuel use a clutch system that slips at first then engages depending on what the crew chief sets up. That drives the 3.20 final drive.
A lot of sportsman racers do use the auto as it is easier to be more consistant, so I guess both points can be valid.
Actually, have you ever watched the in car video of a Pro Stock car during a run? They are rowing an H pattern 5 speed. Of course it is a clutchless unit, but it is fully up to the driver to be on the top of his game for consistency. Talking about easier, my Integra shifts like butter and it is pretty consistant even though I am the one pulling the lever. Most of the trans for Pro Stock are made by Liberty Gears. Like I said, not trying to start an argument, but just put a couple of facts out there. I wish I could see that S2K of yours. Too bad it wont ever happen. Good luck with the Vette and maybe one day we can meet at the track. Run even n/t if that would make you feel better.

Good runs guys, shame Rodney's car can't hook but good to see it's finally together and out there to mess around and have fun! Hopefully it'll be boosting higher soon with more traction so everyone can see that car wake up..
Good drifting too, some of you guys are so ignorant. That car is 3300lb + driver, 184hp 325 that spins on tire, his drifting was nothing but excellent for what he was working with.
