4th should be close to 1:1 on any 6 speed manual, on a stock S2000 it is 1.1:1. 5th and 6th are overdrives, but 5th is still close to a 1:1.

    Stock S2000 Gear Ratios:
    1st: 3.133
    2nd: 2.045
    3rd: 1.481
    4th: 1.161
    5th: 0.943
    6th: 0.763
    Reverse: 2.800
    Final Drive: 4.100
    Secondary Gear Reduction: 1.208

    PPG's ratios usually are:
    Ratios: 3.16 / 2.09 / 1.53 / 1.22 / 1.04 / 0.88
As you can see, only 6th would be overdrive.

Are you using their drop gears? They don't list the ratios for them, but they should be similar. Why would they make 3 OD gears, except for top end runs? You might want to double-check this. If they really put 4th as an OD, then they ripped you off with a poor tranny setup in regards to performance.
thats is all correct, but i bought there custom reduction gear because that is what breaks alot on s2000s. the reduction gear is made larger so it throws the the gear ratios off. it makes 3rd you rclosest 1:1 gear. its made specificly for track use

Ok, so basically you are using only 1-3 at the track, correct? Then with 3 ODs, you either have a very small ratio change between each, or you have a really small final. Let me guess, you also have something bigger than a 4:10 final, right? In the 5's maybe?

no i still have 4.10. i go into 4th at track. 4th tops out around 160mph for me.. i make enough tq and hp where 4th is not a big issues for me, but 5th and 6th slow me down considerably.

That's definitely an interesting tranny. I don't think that I would have thought to done it that way.

When my 5 speed breaks, it's going auto. Much less to worry about for me.

Do you have a way to load the turbo when you are at the line? I.E. - AEM, line lock, etc?

For you, I would only consider the TH400 - fully built. You need something seriously strong, and it has the reputation for being reliable. Only downside to it is that it has no OD.

For me, I will go with a built AOD later. I need the OD, as mine is just a street car.
