He fails epically for wanting to do a roll instead of a dig.

I'm so sad you didn't drive that thing to Summit when we met you. LOL. Looked like a good race.

i hate people that keep their shit secret. who cares. the whole purpose is to get a car of equal status and race it so which is better driver and which has that little edge. im sure as hell not going to waste my time on a top secret boosted d16, that wont tell me what hes running. fuck that. might as well go pour my gas down the drain. if i race which i dont it better be a good race between me and the other car.
And why is it so bad he wants to keep it a secret? It's hustling and having fun...

I guarantee that mustang ain't making 475. Especially if the motor is stock. It is probably more in the 400-420 hp range. Spool'd are you coming out Saturday? I'd like to do a 40 roll with you to see where your car stands against mine.

The mustang is well above 420 range. I was there when It dyno'd nobody said anything about a stock motor. Plus all that was said was procharged 10 psi, not what type of procharger, etc.

So what you are saying it is a built motor with a D1SC or a stock bottom end with a D1SC.

The location would not have permitted a dig run. Also on 315 street tires, it wouldn't have been much of a race from a dig IMO. Considering how I do from a low roll and dig with the same car.

Its not a fully built motor, has some head work amongst other things. Its still needs to be retuned, I think I'm handling that some time next week.

People in this thread have talked about the high speed runs and being scared to do it but I might sound crazy but those top speed runs like that are my favorite to do. It gets my adrenaline pumping. I just hope nothing bad ever happens while i'm doing one.

Anymore info on that GT? I think I ran into that guy on the west side of 285 one night coming home from work. Quick Mustang to say the least. If it's got a vanity plate and shaved badges it was him.

Damn good race between you two!

Nice kill. I usually shut it rite at 120 (enough to tell the outcome) or whenver it seems like it's a done run, but sometimes if it's close foot tends to stay down bit longer.

You have to see tho, high hp cars get to high speeds quicker than low hp so high hp are in speed for less time period than slower cars. I rather get up there quick and shut down quick.

Some people might say that 120 is way too early to let off when racing from a roll, unless you are just walking away. close races like the one i had other people might keep going up in higher speeds , but the location is a key factor. i was not on the highway so traffic lights come up mighty quickly. yea i do agree with you, get up there quickly and shut it down.

A good rule of thumb is 100mph race. So whichever speed you start from, you add 100 to that and shut down at that speed.

People rarely do that though, it's usually a 60 - 80mph stretch. I like going longer just because I have tall gearing and want to spend SOME time in my power band heh
