Thacker vs 636 RWHP Cobra - Gasp... from a roll! HD Video
Posting this over here because it's a good video!
Thacker actually agreed to roll race! Thacker offered the cobra 2 cars from a dig, Cobra offered Thacker the hit from a slow roll. Thacker took the hit, sprayed in first gear and left him. Estimates were 5-7 car lengths ahead.

Thacker got overly excited it was the first time spraying hard on the nitrous I do believe.

kind of unfair thacker with spray is 597whp and weighting in what 3200 cobra only having 636whp and weighting in what.... 3600?

I think it's fair, IIRC 600whp is when he is on a bigger shot. I just think it's super PeP Boys rice that the video says 636whp when everyone openly admitted that car was around 570-600whp when they raced
No one really knows what he was making. He went from a 3.4 pulley to a 3.5 pulley and lost about 1.5lbs of boost from what he was saying. He could have been making anywhere between 600 and 625 I am sure. I was dead even with him like I said and I've pulled 580rwhp Cobras before.
I didn't see where the video said 636 whp please show me.. Thats the race he (cobra guy) wanted mine you. Thacker didn't want to do this race, but I guess he is a business man.
Also, the 636 remark is from what the Cobra driver posted on his craigslist ad for the car.

People that are saying it wasn't a fair race are dumb. The dude agreed to the terms, so in his mind, he thought it was fair enough for him. Shit all those guys rolled up like they were some street racing gang ready to start a fight or something, mean mugging and shit. It was pretty fucking funny to say the least.
Ain't shit unfair if both drivers agree to it. But this is the type of post I expect from IA.

bout what you would expect when you consider with the shot thacker was running, he was prob makin 570rwhp and with the pulley the gt had it was prob making 600rwhp, theres a big weight adv to thacker and he got the jump with 650ft/lb of instant tq compared to a lagging cent blower havin to play catch up.

thacker might have had a weight advantage but the cobra has the gearing advantage from a roll
not really. pending what each gears are in the car, like the cobra if its stock has either 3.27's or 3.55's and seeing as how both are probably on a T56 the tranny gearing is probably the same. My bet is judging by how fast thacker came out of the hole, he has probably 4.10's which on top of the nitrous would be the reason he put a ass whipping on that cobra.
Also man thackers stock ss makes almost 600rwhp! talk about a factory freak!

its not much of an advantage but the weight difference wasnt THAT big of a deal either. those cobra's arent as heavy as temi's...atleast i dont think they are.
Well it's close enough then. I change my opinion, I just think it does no help when people post inaccurate information about the cars present but in this case it's not far off

That Cobra isn't making 640whp. If you ran your 11.40 on motor, then your making appx. 425-450whp then you add your 150-200hp nitrous then that should put roughly in the same ball park as the cobra. You left that cobra way to quick for the cobra to be making 640whp!!!!

Cobra was probably making right around 600 RWHP, judging by how it ran against the Z06.
640 RWHP would not have changed the outcome at all.
He would have probably needed 850 RWHP to pull back past Thacker after getting jumped like that (which he agreed to giving him the hit obviously).
Wrong, the Cobra was making at least 600 to keep up with Lank like that. Only Cobra I've seen pull on Lank was a SN95 KB Cobra that was 3000lbs with 580HP. He might not have been making 636 that night, but it was over 600.
I'm sorry you feel that way, but don't make stupid posts without thinking about it first.
Even then, that Cobra only pulled me because he left like Thacker did in this video....just goes to show how much traction matters in any race. When I raced Brandon, he just floored it and took off. I, on the other hand, spun spun spun while feathering the throttle, and even spun a little once I shifted to 3rd at almost 90mph. I also went from like 35mph which is at like 2500RPM's for me. Had he and I done a 50mph punch on a warm day (it was in the 30's that night) it would have been pretty damn close.
Deon beat him by a full car length racing UPHILL (where his lighter car would have more advantage) at 14 or 15 PSI. While I haven't raced Deon without a passenger, with Rick in the car and a full tank of gas I am dead even with Deon....which means I should pull about 1.5 or more cars "unloaded."
The Cobra in this video changed his pulley and made 599rwhp on the dyno, Btstone said he saw it dyno'd. He also said the rev limiter was set at 6200RPM's, whereas most Cobras' are set at 6500RPM's. Keep in mind this is a centrifugal supercharger as well, and not a twin screw like the KB. You can't just look at HP vs. HP and determine what each car "should" do.
Yep, thats right, but thats what Hunterthinks. When you have 1,000 horsepower that may be the case.
I don't think it would be very close if he's actually making 580 RWHP in that 3,000 lb car vs. the Z06. I think he said it weighed around 3,000 - maybe it's 3,300. He may not actually make that kind of power on the street though, who knows, he seems to have some problems with it. Taking 300 or 600 lbs off of the 600 RWHP KB Cobra's you're even with would put them out ahead a few.
That night he ran Deon he obviously wasn't making very good power, and the fact that they were both racing uphill doesn't give one or the other an advantage since the force of gravity is still affecting both of them equally.
Street dyno mathematics.
