Dude, you're beating a dead horse. There are imports that are faster than some domestics. But turbo for turbo the domestic will always be faster. Anyway, the original point was that I don't believe the specific 240 this thread is about beat that Viper just because he car is that much faster.

stil not true. this can go on forever. turbo importsin 6s n u got turbo domestics probably running similar times before u get into the top fuel genre. it will always vary between the two. domestics will not always be faster neither will i mports. neither is greater than each other. lets call em equals and quit. because a civic can run the same times a T/A can run so nobody wins. and who cares who spent what on it to make it do it. fact is taht it it did it.
yeah,but they make way more power then any turbo import and they all run just one power adder and usually weigh over 3,000 lbs. Tim lynchs car runs 6.86@210 with boost only and 3100 lbs. Brad Brand made 2500 hp with just 12 psi of boost on his 700 cube motor.
i like both imports and domestics but i got to ask if imports are running similar times why don't they run in the world street nationals in orlando? Anyone can enter buts its always just domestic cars? Maybe its the one power adder deal that scares them off since the motors are so small to compete they need to spray on top of boost. Just think if the domestic guys were to spray on top of just running boost.

Ok, without the price of the car. You can get a much bigger and more hp motor for 5 grand. You can get a 408 short block for less than that. Spend another 2-2300 on a good set of heads and you have a pretty quick car. Definetly not 13s. A stock T/A will run 13's and high 12's.

It really just depends on how you look at it. Because you can get a T/A for 9k that will run 13s. It may be a little older and high milage but it would more than likely still do it stock.

I don't know what this guy's 240 ran. And I'm not saying the Viper should've won. But not have lost by 3-5 cars. That sounds like pure driver. If his car is truely fast, maybe 1-2 cars sounds a little more believable. Vipers aren't slow from the factory. Maybe I'm wrong, but maybe I'm right. We won't know until he races one that has a good driver. That is just my opinion.

Hmm... I distictly remember having to keep slowing down because I couldn't tell if he was going or not, with a sticking clutch. When did I just barely beat him? That was a joke race. I never said anything about my car running 9 seconds. And coming from someone who runs 12s, you shouldn't even be posting right now. You have one video. Not thousands. I haven't raced my car a lot around imports. He said it had an upgraded turbo, not stock. Post the videos. All of them. Not just when he goes flying past me after I already slowed down. I even asked you to see the video and you never sent it to me.
If you are talking about when I hit the brakes and he went flying past, then yeah he beat me. You truly are a ricer. You lose by about 7 cars and are just barely beat. But you beat someone by half a car that is just dominating and pulling. We all know your car is slow that is why you don't ever want to race.

All of the imports kept getting up in front of us when we slowed down. It wasn't a fender. Do you remember the traffic and the 18 wheeler riding his ass? Do you have the video for it? If so, post it. the video was posted, the 240 won the race. was it due to driver error or is the 240 just faster on the highway? this whole argument proves nothing toward either reason. it's still very likely that the 240 vs a stock viper with a good driver could win. marshall's 240 ran with a Z06 making similar power to my car (which is also right where nyteryder's car was at the time of this run). when marshall and i went at it on the highway he was barely creeping on me in the Z06 with bolt-ons (an uphill run i might add).
mythbusters say it's plausible and people should quit arguing this shit to death, it won't change the outcome
