Default KA VRS SR........ the battle is over. the winner has been chosen

KA VRS SR........ the battle is over. the winner has been chosen

for a long time now KA and SR battle has been at the top of the bigboosting charts for most arguable...... uh ..... argument

    SO!

i took it into my own hands to see wich is better...... i was not biased in any way during the competition. i treated both cars the same. 100% ragging

both cars are identicle.. highly tuned Nissan S13 coupe platforms....

ONE with a KA (now dont think this is the single cam KA.. this is infact the mightly DUAL CAM 2.4 powerhouse AND! TQ monster)

ONE with a SR (with .4 LESS i repeat LESS L of displacement... u can go ahead and consider the SR a underdog.... because remember... dusplacement is everything)

its kinda tuff to tell wich is better in the video.... because of corse there so evenly matched as many will say.

    but you decide.

the battle is over. the war has been WON.....

uumm...I rather have a sohc turbo instead of a dohc turbo.

how is that different? Lots of smart people do it and make lots of power. I don't see a problem there.

WHY? because it has no real power like the SR or a DOHC KA-T. Yes it can be done and yes it can make some good power but you are so limited that you should go dual cam.

I love the above comment of " smart people do it." Well how many "smart people" with a SOHC KA-T make over 400rwhp? There are more than enough SR's and DOHC KA-T's doing it, so help me understand that one.

I seem to recall making 396rwhp@5200 on a slipping clutch; dont think many SOHC guys have been there.

I would also agree.... My 96 240 (sold car) turbo's KA was tailored afters Chris Mays and at 11 psi 308 whp was made with stock internals, JWT ECU, T3-04 Hybrid, 550lbs injectors, Cobra MAF, Spareaco Intercooler, etc. I would take a Iron Block any day over the SR.

Chris's pulled a 437whp at 21 psi. Bored 20% over with Aries Pstons, Carillo Rods, Ferra Valve sprins/retainers, etc. Oh and he won Dyno wars in 2002 at Nopi Nats, going up against a onlaught of others including a SR20DET 240....

Taking a KA built right the SR would have a hard time......Needless to say this thread is utter shit until you use a couple of cars worthy, instead of showing a burnt out over the hill greased up KA motor......

With all due respect to Chris May's amazing car, BUT that thing spent more time on the lift then it did on the street. Very impressive car when it was running though.

My setup was setup to be in that hp range you stated above with May's car. I feel as if mine would have been alot more reliable too. But who am I to talk I sold the car before it had a good clutch.

Can't find the link right now.

But I doubted it too. Guy I know told me he was going to build his SOHC NA and I said that was the most retarded thing ever, and he showed me the link to a few guys who had basiclly fully built the SOHC and made over 300. It looks like it'd take a ton of money but for what he wanted out of the car I guess it made sense.

360whp SR(updated specs in sig) and ran 7.50 in the 1/8th. Funny how you see all these over 500whp sr's and ka's in vids on the dyno but never at the track, and only one fully streetable s13 chassis cars in the 10's(not mine yet )

    lag=problem
    2 step= solution

My reason for running 1/8th mile is to get the launch down or where we make changes to the car for upcoming events.

No, the machine shop screwed up one or the bronze guis=des when they were putting it in. The other will be at the shop tomorrow, but I probably won't have it done by this weekend. I was hoping so but it will p[robably be ruunning at Dallas next weekend if everything goes well.
