how strick are they about not having a cage or saftey equip.
you just need working headlights, battery hold down, and all your lugs.
if you run 10.99 or less you need cage, other than that just bring a helmet

A friend of mine passed tech w/o a current certified cage and ran a 9.40 @ 150, they told him to keep it in the 10s after that. He didn't have a window net either, and it has a funny car cage.
If you have aftermarket seats and a roll bar or roll cage the back of the seats have to be ajoined with the cross bar. (Last time I was at Commerce they wont let me run because of this.) that was a month ago?

after 4 or 5 frickin attempts of heading down there and not being able to run
i burned out on the asphalt cause i didn't wanna get my street tires wet and the track guy yelled at me
"number one, we have a burnout box for a reason, don't be burnin out on my asphalt or you'll be behind the fence! second, stop staging with your back tires, if you don't know what you're doing then you shouldn't be here! now back the car up!"

that shit's fun as hell, i know i could use some better tires but i need more practice first. i'm starting to get a feel for the track, next time i should do a little better. lol i'm like (@ chadbee) "how do the frickin lights work? when do i go?"
all in all commerce isn't quite as slick of a track as i thought...
i need to practice feathering the clutch a little better in first, it's just so hard with the frickin unsprung clutch, it's like a milimeter between all or nothing, plus all the adrenaline, and the track official screaming at me lol.
had a bunch of fun though, i'd like to do it again next week as well.
was a pleasure meeting Khan, Retro, On3, EricP & everyone else! hope to see you guys tomorrow, or next week at the track!
p.s. anyone got some slicks with some meat left, that'll fit on 14 x 7's?
pps if you called me after my second run (approximately 10:00) my phone battery was dead, i wasn't ignoring you, call me again

That track was in really shitty condition last night, no tack at all. Wait until you get somewhere that actually preps the track.

Best I was able to get was a 12.8 with a 2.0 60'. Kept breaking loose in the 1st to 2nd shifts too.
Did see a cool turbo bike run a 149mph 1/4 mile though! WOW!!

was in the blue LS camaro with the fuel gauge on the out side.
and on 255/50 street tires no DR's i hit in the 11's when i sprayed it about the 1/8th mile and the car got sidways on me and had to let outnot a good feeling
but had my fun with a couple of vette's,a supercharged coupe and a turbo cobra
149 from a turbo bike is decent. i trapped 130 on my 600

I saw you and your car several times but had no idea that it was you. You were behind us to the right in the staging lanes for about 15 minutes on our last pass.

hey, the bike that ran 149 wasn't turbo, it was a built busa on spray. the bike was also stretched, hes one of my buddies, hes about to turbo it... if its the same guy im thinking about

Ya I hate goin to commerce but its so close compared to SDR and such. Ran a 12.4 @ 111 but with a 1.84 60ft... @ SDR i was hitting mid 1.6's all night.
