    Default j427s - questionable seller?

I hate spending my time typing out a "bad" seller thread... especially when it concerns someone here local. It would make me happier to write a "good" seller thread. This sale was somewhat trivial and not of much importance to me, but regardless - it's the principle that counts.

I had talked to him on the phone a few times and we had come to an agreement of $150 for some scratched up fat fives with worthless tires. (which was fine, i just wanted to get my crx off of jackstands)

However, he called me up later and informed me that he had just traded them with his buddy for some old scratched SI wheels, (two of which would not have tires because he took them off to swap them onto the fat fives) and asked if i would be interested in them. After I asked the price and was told it would be the same as the fat fives, I agreed.

I arrived at the meeting place and looking at the wheels they were pretty much as described. [missing tires, heavy scratches on the wheels] I handed him 150, and he said "the price was 175 dude." After i regained my composure, the first words out of my mouth were "Man, you said 150" -

    his excuse was
"...but i had to change the tires out and all dude"

I'm not going to say that j427s is a bad seller, but this is not the first time he has done this. So i believe he is a "questionable" seller who doesn't like to stick to his original bargains in hopes of making a few quick bucks.

I plan on avoiding business with him again, and i would suggest others be wary of the same kind of "shenanagins."

    thanks

he did this when we were trading my Hasport AC bracket for an ECU.

He and I agreed that it was going to be a straight trade, but he tried to pull a fast one on me too when we met up.

Not your fault. He didn't have to do that. Price should have stayed the same.

Having an extra 25 bucks was not an issue for me Jonathan, I had it right there in my wallet. I'm not going to 'work' out the extra 25 in some deal with you. I agreed to whatever you said simply because I was livid and doing my best to control my temper in front of your girlfriend. However, I am willing to pay you the extra 25 bucks straight up whever you like, but if that is to be the case - then I am afraid I will not take down this thread as you requested.

Jon if $25 if so important to you keep it i would rather lose $25 and truly find out the person you are now rather than down the road later on

I have conducted business with Jonathan (J427s) a few weeks back. I traded him my 89 Civic Si, for his Talon. We agreed upon, me paying 200$ for boot for new tires on the Civic, as they wore out. I drove two hours to meet up with him, 200 cash with me. Got there, and he said 300, and come to find out he didnt use the money for new tires, instead put drag's on it. It made me pretty upset, but I said nothing, as I was alone, and he had his buddy there. But all in all, I think I came out of the deal ok. However, he never mentioned the oil leak it had, and that 5th gear popped out at times. No biggie. I prolly will not do business with him again, but I AM NOT going to try to ruin his rep on here. Actually, I don't think I will make trade transactions with anyone on IA, ever again.

Ok people to clear things up on the trade he mentioned that the car had a small oil leak upon arrival he wasnt parked 2 min i looked under the car to see how bad it leaked the were at least 7-8 drops on the ground so the extra hundred adjustment was for the new rear main seal and the oil pan gasket that it needed and i already had the drags and the other 200 went to tie rod ends that were needed an alignment brakes getting the exhaust ran and the wheel bearings that were noisy also the car has bad transmission bearings that i never bothered rusty about not trying to bash on him but that was the reasoning for the extra boot

I've known Jonathan (J427s) for a year or so, and I've bought a couple different things from him. Any time I have a question he helps me out. I think the problem is that the price wasn't clearly established. He's never upped a price on me at the last minute.

I'm not saying that se7en shouldn't be upset, because he thought he was getting the wheels for a different price than Jonathan had in mind, and it wasn't clearly established. From what I've seen on IA se7en seems like a good guy, so does J427s.

It's just $25 bucks... no banning necessary here.

    This is funny

My homie, JDMJAYDC2, got a "EF Civic SiR" air box from this cat. After he got it, he brought it to me since I have a EF9 b16 swap that came with an air box. After looking at the air box that j427s sold to my him, it didn't look anything like the air box that came with my swap. Being the cool guy he is, he decided to roll with it and not raise hell because I could of been wrong. A few day later, he tried to install it after his b16 swap, nope it didn't fit.

    I wouldn't buy **** from this cat
