i was ignorant to how the pit bull breed was temperment wise. the bitch.. i mean lady who dumped the dog i have said she was a bull terrier, like the target dog. i went to the shelter and i almost freaked out. i had to track the lady down and have her sign consent forms to let me take this dog, they were going to put her down. i annoyed the people at the pound and as an attempt to get at me they wet the dog down right before i picked her up out back. my poor teggy got all muddy inside.
but she is protective of me and my kids. and very smart and obedient.
My dog is the sweetest thing EVER. No temperament issues at all. I honestly think it's about their environment and past. My dog has NEVER had anyone be mean to her, so she thinks everyone is there to play with her. You couldn't get her to attack a flea if you tried. Props to you for saving one! The are entirely misunderstood in my eyes. The meanest dog I ever saw was a standard poodle
