Mustangs typically put in 4.10 rear gears when running the 1/4 mile. That helps their 1/4 mile time, but hurts their overall top end (given enough horsepower).
Not all mustangs...mine has 3.27 gears but i got i nice big exhaust driven air pump to increase torque multiplication...who needs 4.10 gears...lol
