With new years coming up and all, can anyone recommend a good bottle?

I'm not much of a champagne drinker and I've tried some differnt stuff that tastes like crap...

Price isn't really an issue so...what yall recommend?

a nice bottle doesn't have to be expensive; I personally like the 'brut'
it won't give you a hang over

here's a list and the article link

    http://wine.about.com/od/whitewines/a/champagne.htm

    Korbel Champagne Brut $10

    Beringer Sparkling White Zinfandel $10

    Jacob's Creek Sparkling Rosé $12

    Chandon Extra Dry Riche $12

Blanquette de Limoux Cuvee Jean Philippe 2002 $13

    Moscato d'Asti Bruno Ceretto $16

    Billecart-Salmon Brut Réserve $16

Moet & Chandon NV Brut Imperial $40

    Pommery Champagne $35

    Ployez-Jacquemart Brut Blanc de Blancs 1996 $60

    Champagne Suggestons Priced from $60-100:

Piper Heidsieck 1995 Brut Vintage $61

Veuve Clicquot NV Brut Yellow Label $68

Laurent Perrier NV Grand Siecle La Cuvee $70

    Jacquesson Extra Brut Champagne $99

    Bollinger Grande Annee 1996 $99

    Champagne Suggestons Priced from $100+:

    Moet & Chandon, Dom Perignon 1996 $110

Taittinger 1995 Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blanc $130

Krug NV Grande Cuvee Brut $150

Deutz 1990 Cuvee William Brut $215

**And keep in mind that often more sugar= more likely hang over

    http://www.champagne.fr/en_brut_demisec.html
Actual sugar content in terms of grams per litre depends on the type of wine:

    · Sweet (more than 50 grams/litre)

    · Demi-Sec (33-50 grams/litre)

    · Sec (17-35 grams/litre)

    · Extra Dry (12 -20 grams/litre)

    · Brut (less than 15 grams/litre)

    · Extra Brut (0-6 grams/litre)

Can't really go wrong with Veuve Cliquot. Nice and fresh, and not expensive. they are about $ 37 a bottle at Costco. Got myself a couple for New Year.

It all depends on what you want to use it for. Is it for a party? Friends? Family? Significant other?

Crystal is overrated as well. (A lot of similar and even better tasting champagnes at a fraction of its cost). If you want luxury and class, go with Krug or Bollinger... that'll knock your socks (and her panties) off.....

Other nice recommendations; Veuve Cliquot La Grand Dame Rose or vintage 1990

    Dom Perignon Vintage 1996
    Perrier Jouet Belle Epoque
    Krug NV Grand Cuvee

    etc.
